Jada Kingdom Shares New Song ‘Jungle’: Watch
Dancehall singer Jada Kingdom has come through with some new music today, dropping the track Jungle with movie-style visuals created by director, Effy Kawira.
Jada, who recently signed to Money Well Spent/Republic Records, will reportedly release a new EP in 2022. Jungle is her first release under the label and her second single of the year following Perfect Timing in July.
The new single, produced by DJ Khalil (Eminem, Dr Dre, Jay-Z, Drake), Chicago’s Nascent Beats (50Cent, Chance The Rapper), and Haitian-American Sak Pase (Rihanna, Kanye West), has arrived on a head-bobbing, mid-tempo Reggae rhythm with a melancholic narrative written by Jada and Verse Simmonds.
“Jungle dis a nuh Kingdom,” Jada sings as she takes listeners down the dark, harrowing path of the “streets” in very vivid verses. The music video spurs the images of the ‘jungle-like’ life she describes.
“Jungle is an up-close and personal look into what growing up in Jamaica was for me. Most of the things I speak about in the song lyrics and that you see in the video are actually real-life situations that I’ve seen and or been a victim of,” Kingdom said.
“The scenes with (my little brother) and I was my favorite,” she added in an Instagram post, before noting that the song and visuals were based on a true story.
The fans and her team so far have been showering the Dancehall starlet with their congratulations on this one. Jada’s partner Verse Simmonds, who worked closely on the project, commended the Banana singer for her relentless drive, passion, and work ethic, in an Instagram share today.
“This is just the beginning! Wait till they hear the rest of ur music! 😱🤯 what they not gonna do is expect whats to come! Its up and we aint comin down no time soon!” Verse added, to set expectations high for what’s to come in the upcoming EP.
