Spice Is Stunning In All Blue For Yung Joc’s Wedding
Queen of Dancehall Spice stepped out stunning in all blue with her beau Justin Budd to support her Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta co-stars Yung Joc and Kendra Robinson at their wedding in Atlanta over the weekend.
On Sunday, November 7, the It’s Goin Down rapper tied the knot with Robinson, a criminal defense attorney, after they revealed their relationship in season 8 of LHHATL and following a two-year engagement.
Swathed in her favorite color—though missing her signature blue tresses (a wise choice in this instance)—Spice opted for ebony-colored lacefront to go with an elegant royal-blue suede bustier dress, that boasted a thigh-high side split.
She paired the floor-length gown with a chic fox fur boa, blue closed-toe heels, and Yves Saint Laurent, Envelope Mix Matelass é Grain De Poudre Embossed Leather handbag.
For the final touches, the Send It Up singer is accessorized with a blue sapphire crystal pendant necklace with matching subdued earrings and, of course, blue manicured nails.
Her very poised make-up job did not go unnoticed, while she chose earthy tones for her blush and eye shadow, and added a pop of blue for her eyeliner.
The So Mi Like It singer’s boyfriend Justin was the perfect cohort, wearing a full blue ensemble to pair up with his girl. He was dressed in a royal-blue suede blazer over a blue turtleneck shirt and matching formal pants.
Spice and Justin have been dating since late 2020. “I’m in love, I’m happy! I just feel like he’s a part of me, he’s a part of my life,” she told @thejasminebrand last year.
Fans of the QOD will know just how much she loves the color blue, as often rocks variants of the color in everything that she does—from her costumes on stage and in music videos to her staple blue wigs for everyday wear.
Earlier this year, Spice explained the origins of her signature blue hair in an interview with BET. She enlightened audiences that colorful hair is a part of the Dancehall culture and for her wearing blue hairdos is how she reps her country.
“I remember when I started to become popular in American and some people were like, ‘Oh, she wears blue hair like…’ I was like hold up. My blue hair comes from my Jamaican culture.”
“We’re known for wearing colorful hair within the Dancehall genre. That’s the inspiration behind my blue hair, which I’ve been wearing for two decades. This ain’t no new come-up thing. Let’s get it out there real clear and proper.”
She also wanted it on record that she inspired the trend of putting blue eyeliner underneath the eyes, which she was appropriately donning during the interview. “I started that trend by the way. When I used to do it, people used to call me crazy. Even my blue hair. Now everybody wants to take it over from me. Like I never started doing this like ten years ago,” she explained.
Spice’s bold fashion choices are also heavily influenced by the title she holds as the Queen of Dancehall and although it may take a lot of effort to maintain, she knows it’s her duty especially to those who admire her. According to Spice, she can easily spend about 2-3 hours getting glammed up by her glam squad.
“Being the Queen Of Dancehall is not just about the songs that you sing. How you dress has a lot to do with it! I don’t take lightly to my stage entrances, my performances, or my costumes. You have to show up and show out all the time. I feel like the title has a lot to do with how I carry myself,” she said.
Off the stage, Spice still brings the wow-factor in the way she dresses. For Joc’s wedding, the QOD definitely stood out among the crowd that included several of her other LHHATL castmates including Safaree, Yandi Smith, Rasheeda, Kirk Frost, Shekinah, and Sierra.
