Masicka Reveals Meaning Behind His Debut Album Title ‘438’

After quite the wait, Dancehall star Masicka is set to drop his debut album 438 next month, but just what does the numeric title mean?

According to the Top Form deejay, whose real name is Javaun Fearon, 438 is actually an angelic number meaning ‘achieving all you can in life’. This, Masicka discovered a few years ago after always encountering the number in his environs.

“While on tour a few years ago the number 438 was always surrounding me whether hotel room, time, something about the number was always appearing,” Masicka revealed.

“One day I decided to look it up and learned 438 is an angelic number. A number full of positive meaning, prosperity and optimism. It was just life changing experience so I just decided to name the album that,” he explained.

The 16-track album will be released on Friday, December 3 via global music powerhouse ONErpm, who hosted an exclusive listening session in the heart of Times Square, New York City.  In attendance were fellow artists and actors, including Michael Rainey Jr. of STARZ’ Power franchise.

“We are excited to be apart of the release of Masicka’s debut album ‘438’. The album is a great body of work and we know fans and dancehall enthusiasts will enjoy” expressed Martin Price, Director of A & R (North America & Africa) at ONErpm.

The album will feature collaborations with international star Sean Paul, Popcaan, British rapper Stefflon Don, and Masicka’s Leader collaborator, Dexta Daps.

Already released from the album are fan favorites Different Type, currently at 4.9 million views on YouTube since its May release, Update released a month ago at 2.4 million views, and the very intimate Love Story, scoring 1.3 million views in just two weeks.
