Foota Hype In Instagram ‘Jail’, Says Spice Has Anti-LGBTQ Lyrics Too

Foota Hype‘s Instagram page was shut down, hours after the Dancehall producer/selector ignored an ultimatum given by Spice to remove posts criticizing her for headlining the Toronto Pride LGBTQ festival set for June next year.

Foota took to his Suhvyva Godcast YouTube channel to tell his viewers on Friday evening, that the social media platform suspended his over 200k follower account and that he was neither perturbed nor deterred from voicing his opinion, as according to him, he still remains the undisputed “viral king”.

In the nine-minute monologue, Foota said he was trying hard to restrain himself, but was prepared to get dirty if pushed.

Foota, among other things, told his followers during the live YouTube stream, that Spice has no ethical foundation on which to rebuke him for speaking out against the LGBTQ community, as she has been among the Dancehall deejays who have publicly condemned their lifestyle in lyrics and has allegedly advocated their demise, at stage shows.

“A you an [Vybz] Kartel sing seh ‘man to man dat wrong’ an a bag a ting,” Foota said at one point, referencing the Rampin Shop (2009) intro, which rebuked same-sex lifestyles.

“Mi gat whole heap a performance weh yuh a bun b_ttyman an a seh ‘kill b_ttyman’.  Suh mi nuh know how all of a sudden now, yuh a act like yuh a dis advocate fi accept everybaddy,” he claimed.

With a subdued countenance, Foota had told his fans that his Instagram page had just been shut down and attributed it to Spice’s intervention.

“Suh mi nuh know if a di bes dat Spice coulda do. Dat was what di warnin was about? Di 24 hour warnin?” he said in mock disbelief.

“Yes, mi love mi Instagram and everyting, but mi have YouTube and mi have couple site page….  Memba mi do months a jail.  When yuh deh a jail, yuh no have no Instagram, yuh nuh have no Facebook, yuh nuh have Twitter; yuh nuh have nuttn.  Suh a nuh di end a di world.  Mi life nuh done. Nuh YouTube dis mi deh pon. A do do di same ting.  A me a di viral king.  Anyting mi seh ova yah suh a guh go viral same way,” he added.

According to Foota, he was expecting that Spice would have been coming at him with “some deep, dark secret and some ting fi unleash pon Foota Hype”.

“Caw yuh si choo me know mi nuh have no secret and nuh gyal nuh have nuttn ova mi, no bwoy..mi nuh sex battam…mu nuh scam people, mi nuh rob people, suh mi already know seh you aint got shit,” he added.

The Calabar High School old boy said he was going to, for the time being, take the moral high ground and not insult the Dancehall Queen as he still maintained respect for her.

But Foota added: “Yuh dont even have no sense.  Yuh fi jus accept di fact seh yuh f-k up and yuh do di wrong ting and yuh fi try fix it. Yuh a try like yuh waan war wid Foota.   Spice, cone on man.  mi an yuh good ova di years. Don’t mek wi haffi do dis.”

The Cassava Piece native also juxtaposed the response Spice gave to himself versus the jesting one she gave to Sizzla who had also criticized her for her participation in the LGBTQ event.

“Next ting again, Sizzla seh di same ting wha me seh.  But yuh naw try bash Sizzla.  Me yuh a try attack. Memba me worse dan Sizzla enuh.  Sizzla wi hold back pan certain tings, caw him a artiste, but when mi a go at people, mi go at dem wicked enuh,” he said.

“Mi put out a statement.  A don’t diss yuh.  Yuh know di reason why di international market naw work wid yuh.  Yuh do great work; yuh do great music but dem jus naw gi yuh di mileage… You know why yuh a get di fight.  Me neva seh you waan be Latino or you waan be white.  Mi seh dats di reason dem a fight yuh.  But di truth bun yuh an it hurt yuh,” Foota stated.

In continuing his rebuke, the selector then said social media was not vital to his existence or to his stardom status.

“Mi nuh business bout Instagram; Instagram a nuh mi life. Suh if di page shut dung a suh it guh.  Den wha happen if me fi get up a mawnin an no social media nuh deh? Foota Hype naw guh be a star no more?  Mi a guh be a star jus di same,” he said.

“Mi naw work out nuttn behind di scenes.  If Spice nuh waan chat to mi, mi nuh haffi chat to Spice.  Spice nuh hol up my life.  An Spice nuh haffi chat to me; mi nuh hold up Spice life,” he said when a follower advised him to hash out the matter privately with Spice.

“Shi style di industry publicly.  Shi sell out di ting, publicly.  An mi naw teck back mi chat an mi naw apologise fi weh mi a seh…Shi guh luuu.  An a deh suh mi ting deh.  Mi straight enuh.  And yuh caan seh yuh straight and support certain tings.”

He then made comparisons between Spice and Lady Saw saying that the former crowned Queen of Dancehall, would have taken the moral high ground in a case like this.

“Yuh defile.  Yuh a di queen; yuh a di self-proclaimed queen.  Lady Saw woulda neva do dat.  Suh Lady Saw neva did a meck money too.  Yuh tink people neva approach Lady Saw bout dat inna fi har time?  How Lady Saw neva do dat? An Lady Saw sell millions a record?  Whole heap more dan yuh. Lady Saw sell platinum and how much gold an shi neva do dat,” he said.

“Suh yuh need fi siddung and look into yuhself and stop gwaan like yuh waan use ignorance and arrogance when yuh wrong.  Mi naw seh yuh nuh fit fi be di queen, because there is no odda female artiste weh deh pin di level weh yuh deh.   But yuh defile.   Yuh hurt yuh own career…,” Foota added.

The Dollars and Sense producer added that he remained fearless in the face of adversity, that his life was an open book and he hoped he would not be forced to unleash his wrath.
