Jada Kingdom Shades Starr Dawkins While Serving Sexy Bikini Bod

After being unfavorably mentioned in the new single Sponsor by social media personality-turned-recording artist Starr Dawkins, Dancehall singer Jada Kingdom has fired back by serving shade and some to-die-for looks on the ‘gram.

Starr Dawkinz’s new upbeat, yet controversial leg-puller references several of her peers in the entertainment industry including the Worl’ Boss Vybz Kartel, who she implored to give her oral sex, and Jada Kingdom, who Dawkins claimed does not have enough money to entice her. “Jada Kindom nuh have enough income,” Dawkins sang.

Clearly unbothered, the Banana singer shared a series of photos on her Instagram page, just two days after Starr’s new song was released.  Flaunting her voluptuous bikini bod in a sexy two-piece, Jada wrote in one shady caption: “The only star we acknowledge is TWINKLE🧚🏼‍♀️…Tuh..”

While apparently upstaging the newcomer with her superior bikini bod, (unaided, could do all the talking) Jada seemed intentional by posing in the photos at her newly acquired Miami – Florida home, which she had showed off last month.

With her clearly, pricey backyard backdrop, the WiN singer wrote in the caption of another post: “Stress nah wear suh mi tek off! ☺️💕”.

Similar to the controversy that Dancehall singer Ce’Cile caused some 20 years ago with the release of her iconic track Changez, Starr has provoked fans of Kingdom and even Vybz Kartel.

However, Dawkins insisted that the song is a tribute to Dancehall and that she was only trying to ‘big up’ the artists, “not to slander” anyone. Speaking with the Jamaica Gleaner, Starr stated there was no ill intent behind the lyrics of the song, and it was rather to entertain and engage audiences.

“It was kind of, do it for the culture, though a lot of people think it’s for clout, or that I’m trying to slander someone’s name. Some people may slander as a marketing strategy, but I don’t market like that. What I try to do is focus on entertainment and fun. So as long as my audiences are engaged and entertained, or have something to talk about and keep their life interesting, then I did my job as an entertainer,” she explained.

Starr admitted that the song’s producer IzyBeats (Koffee/Toast) had prepared her for expected backlash. He had predicted, “If anyone, that Kartel and Jada probably would have an issue”.

Meanwhile, Ce’Cile believes that it is ‘a real bad gyal ting Starr come with’.

“First thing I listen to is technicality to see if it is a good production and then how she flows. I moved to the lyrical content and immediately started laughing. She clearly knows the purpose of the song and I am sure she is prepared for whatever comes with it,” Ce’Cile said.

She also advised Starr Dawkins that there’s no escaping backlash.

“Some people going to feel you have disrespected their artiste, is either you deal with it or don’t do it,” she said. “I remember people saying ‘yuh diss di don Bounty [Killer] to me [in Changez]. This being 20 years after my time, of course Starr had to go harder. The culture has changed and her generation is talking about the topics she has mentioned, all she did was attach it to some names. The song for me is nice. I like it and I think it’s a good upgrade,” she said.

Dawkins, who was raised between Waterford in Portmore, St Catherine, and Florida in the United States, explained that the idea for the song came after rapper Yung Miami of the duo City Girls dropped a song called RapFreaks. She also noted that Nicki Minaj did a similar single some years ago.

“So, I was like why nobody doing this in Dancehall? When I looked back, I was like, look like only Ce’Cile did brave enough to do this and this was exactly 20 years ago with her song Changez,” Starr said.

As for the backlash from the fans, the Dancehall newcomer, whose single Sponsor is just her third official release, said, “The only person can cancel me is God”

“Everything is already working out for me and if God gave creativity to me, it is not from a malicious, evil or bad mind place I have to come out strong as a new artiste,” she explained.

“I was saying to Kartel, before you die, yuh fi try eat some p—y. You been going against it, but before you die, taste the ‘Cookie Wash’ once. In all fairness, it was just fun and joke. I don’t want to engage in any type of relationship with any of the people I mentioned.”
