Khalia & Dre Island Team Up For ‘Wild Fire’: Watch

Jamaican, London-bred singer Khalia and Roots Reggae crooner Dre Island have teamed up on a new single Wild Fire, a collaboration no one knew they needed.

In the Camron Media visuals, which debuted on Friday, November 26, the two showcase their musical chemistry from the hub of the McGregor Gully community in Kingston, St. Andrew.  With Island’s signature raspy Rastafarian style tones (which fans couldn’t help but to compare with Bob Marley’s) blended with Khalia’s honey-dewed timbres, they relay quite the love song.

Taking turns, they tune on the hook, “You set my soul on fire, (I sing a melody to take me home), you are my only desire, spreading round like wildfire (music takes me to another zone), let Reggae music takes you higher and higher and higher and higher.”

In the Tony ‘CD’ Kelly and Lionel De La O- produced single, the lyrics go on to describe the type of love, tranquility and healing Reggae music provides: When da bass hit ya, yeah you feel better. Make good vibe enter, no more stress for ya, just close your eye for a new horizon, life just get better from you hear that guitar .”

Production for Wild Fire apparently wrapped up this week, Khalia has since shared several social media posts of behind-the-scenes footage from the set. She thanked the crew and creative team, and included the McGregor Gully community, who along with popular dancer Orville Hall of Dance Xpressionz made cameos in the video.

“This is a damn crime to collabo 2 great Artists on a song like this, Dre sounds so much like Bob Marley on this one, so did we just had a Bob and Rita Marley? Khalia needs her dues from the industry with more recognition, she has been working hard giving us great music,” said one fan.

Others said, “Big tune the riddim rocks it deserves to be on top 10 I love the song,” “This track is so crazy,” and “OMG I LOVE IT!”
