Former Rivals Spice And Lisa Hyper Team Up To Discuss Cosmetic Surgery
After squashing their decade-long beef last summer, Dancehall deejay Lisa Hyper made a second appearance on Spice’s Magnum TV show, Spice It Up, to discuss their cosmetic surgery journeys. Episode one of season three premiered on December 15, and saw the women joined by Chinny Unique and DHQ Headtop Aneika.
Hyper admitted that she was new to the designer body club, after undergoing surgery just a few months ago.
“I recently undergo surgery so you know I’m not fully healed as yet. I did it in June. So you know it take like six months to be fully fully healed,” the Sculptured deejay said.
She further noted that the cost of cosmetic surgery was a pretty penny, but shied away from disclosing the exact amount.
“Mi nuh want nobody feel like me have no money. Even after the surgery expensive because you still have to haffi a do lymphatic massage…”
Spice, who is known to have conducted cosmetic surgery herself, chimed in to give a ballpark figure of the procedure.
“To do a surgery costs maybe like a US$10,000, like a million Jamaican. Or, it depends on what you’re doing. To get a pair of breasts is maybe like a US$7000, or to do a full BBL (Brazilian butt lift) is maybe like a US$15,000, so that’s like $2,000,000 Jamaican.”
It wasn’t until November 2020 that Spice confirmed that she had been under the knife, when she shared a photo of her ‘new body’ to her Instagram page with the caption, “This picture was before I bought my breast. I always use to hate that I had to hold them up to look sexy,” Spice shared jokingly.
Then she added her reasons for committing to the procedure. “My daughter use to call me Slippers Titi. Not anymore Doc I thank you…”
In February, while teasing her video for Watch My Life, she made another post about her trek towards a well-defined body, but spoke about the grueling side effects of liposuctions.
She shared a photo of herself clad in a medical gown, with Demarco wearing a doctor’s outfit and drawing on her arm, which is a common technique used in such procedures.
“Promised myself I’ll never ever get another liposuction,” she said in the caption for the photo. “The after pain is not my style and mi can’t bandage up miself cause mi claustrophobic,” she added.
During the newest episode of Spice It Up, she affirmatively stated that there are several factors to consider before doing cosmetic surgery.
“Age has a lot to do with it too. Maybe a young girl who is 18 years old and probably don’t have any kids, I would tell her to wait until she have kids. You have a lot of time. But at the end of the day, if you wanna do surgery, we gonna give you the doctor’s number.”
In an Instagram post yesterday, Spice pointed to the lyrical squabble that was the topic of discussion for many years within the dancehall sphere, and among fans.
“10 years of rivalry ended in a beautiful friendship @lisa_hyper We still hold the record of the baddest lyrical battle exchange 🤣😂🤣😂 Who would have known this day would even be possible again 💙#sculpturebody hotttt 🔥🔥🔥🔥”
The two had a falling out that dated back to 2009, when Hyper, then named Hype, traded disses with Spice in songs titled, The Truth and Draw Me Out.
In July 2020, Hyper issued an apology to Spice on Instagram but was unable to tag the singer because she was blocked. The next day, Spice accepted Lisa Hyper’s apology and also unblocked the Hot Long Time singer on the social media platform, before apologizing for her part in the feud.
“Apology accepted. And I’d like to apologize to you too because, at the end of the day, the disrespect wasn’t one-sided,” said Spice at the time.
“I too retaliated towards you in my diss song in a very derogatory manner. I can tag you now because I just unblocked you after 10 years. Wow, den a so mi keep malice long.”
