Keshan’s Family Thankful That Arrest Made For Her Murder
The family of Dancehall entertainer Keshan is thankful that the police have made an arrest in connection with her death, after her 34-year-old former boyfriend, Toni Martin was taken into custody on Wednesday.
“I am (thankful) to be honest. It took a while. But we got traction on it so for that, I’m very thankful,” Peteisha Brown, Keshan’s sister told DancehallMag.
“The family is doing OK, we are just waiting to hear the trial date.”
The entertainer, whose real name is Keneisha Brown, was shot and killed at about 12:45 am on Saturday, July 20, 2019 in the Sharper Lane area of Old Harbour. Reports are that Brown, popularly known as Keshan, and Martin were involved in an argument.
Keshan was shot dead after reportedly attacking her lover, a licensed firearm holder.
She reportedly threw a rock through the windshield of his car and was shot in a subsequent physical confrontation with him. He reportedly fired a single shot hitting Brown in her forehead.
Keshan, whose real name is Kenneisha Brown, was known for songs such as Bubble Yuh Body, Kill or Die and The Goods, all of which she recorded with incarcerated dancehall star, Vybz Kartel.
