While Bounty Killer’s King of Kingston album seems not destined to be a Christmas album as promised, he has given his fans a replacement Yuletide present of sorts, by living up to Jahshii’s expectations, teaming up with the 21-year-old musically, for a new ‘rude boy’ track titled When we a Step.

A seemingly excited Bounty Killer shared three video clips, among them two of himself, Jahshii and other persons vibing in studio and singing lines from the song.

However, it was the final clip with Jahshii at a party with a wad of thousand dollar notes engaging in a ‘money pull-up’ which caught Bounty’s fans attention.

“Noooo sah look deh already di song not even mix or master yet a wah gwaan earlier mi tell unuh say di whole world gashi but it also look cashi money💰💰💰💰💰💰.  WHEN WE A STEP. @jahshiimusic @1unogeneral @shanebrownja,” Bounty had captioned that post.

The video shows Jahshii dropping money on the turntable as the selector screams “money, money, money” continuously. As Jahshii deposits all the notes he had in his hand on the table and struts to the edge of the platform to take his leave, the selector starts to chant that he had “run out of breath”.  Jahshii, in the meantime, is assisted offstage by his friends and exits the area like a boss.

Amidst the cheering and flame icons that fans posted in response, was a deeper discussion triggered by kyda_musician_life, who said Bounty had his respect from the day he rebuked Buju Banton in defense of a then-upcoming, Vybz Kartel after the Gargamel dragged a microphone from the Any Weather artist’s hands while he was performing at a stage show.

“Killa mi respect yuh to the fullest, annuh just mouth talk mi definitely seet seh you look out for the younger talent, from when buju grab the mic from teacha and you make him know straight him Cyaa dis the youths, my respect fi you deh Pon another level, big up yuh self general. Definitely affi give respect where respect is due. Long life and prosperity to the killa him self. Salute,” he wrote.

His comment found favour with perriermarvin who said that Bounty, due to his ‘cross, angry, miserable’ stage persona, was often misjudged.

“A just true him ignorant n dark man n get cross more while pon stage or some records ppl judge him, a him image dat. But killa a great icon legend person, him name and him career as a killa controversial at times ppl no quick fee jump n admit cause them just quick fee remember the bad things that did make news. Killa a d man.. salute @grunggaadzilla” he noted.

The song is seemingly produced by Shane Brown, producer of Beres Hammond and Popcaan’s God is Love track, and who has also produced and engineered tracks for Shabba Ranks, Richie Spice, and Tarrus Riley.

The Bounty-Jahshii collab comes two weeks after the Cream of the Crop artist, whilst paying homage to the Warlord for using his influence to give opportunities to musically-inclined inner-city youths, brushed aside the likes of Shabba Ranks, as being among a slew of superstar émigrés who had not supported their younger compatriots back on the island.

In the controversial interview with Television Jamaica’s Anthony Miller on The Entertainment Report, The First Nation artist among other things, had hailed the Warlord for his constant benevolence towards young musicians, and his willingness to give full support and collaborate on tracks with unknown, upcoming artistes.

“Bounty Killa, woulda gi mi a collaboration now.  Dem man deh have di street bredda…,” Jahshii had declared at the time, sparking support from the Warlord.
