Fresh on the heels of his separation from Popcaan’s Unruly Camp, dancehall deejay Quada has dropped a new single to pay homage to Jamaica in all her glory titled Di Vibes.

It is certainly a deviation from his usual hardcore lyrics, but the Control deejay hopes it will be received with the same level of enthusiasm.

“I want this song to be an example to my fellow Jamaican artists of how powerful we are without profanity or clout. Also, I pray this song changes lives along the way wherever it’s played. The world loves Jamaica, so pray it’s another anthem for our culture and way of life on a worldwide scale. It’s being received well so far; it can only get better,” he told DancehallMag.

Released on December 18, the track was produced by Canada-based producer, Blair Mercer.

Quada, whose real name is Shacquelle Clarke, first signed to Popcaan’s Unruly Entertainment record label back in 2018.  They have collaborated on We Don’t Play with Jafrass, Billions and the FIXTAPE track Have It with Skillibeng.

Now the CEO of his new company, WellBad Ent, he said his decision to split from the group was dependent on his desire to develop his brand more.

“The reason I branched off as an independent artist is because I strongly believe that every artiste is a brand.  By doing this you’ll be more than able to control your music and the master’s of your recordings, also it puts you a state where your in control as how you should operate as a brand,” he said.

He anticipates that Di Vibes will be his golden ticket to international music awards.

“It’s being well received currently. hope the Grammys catch on to this single next. It’s constantly growing daily on the fans and it’s been getting   a lot of airplay.”

Meanwhile, the Misconception deejay was tight-lipped about his ongoing court matter, but has, on several occasions maintained his innocence.

According to him, his main focus is now personal development.

“I am working on a better version of myself; a calm person, business minded, and an improved individual. I am exercising, not drinking or smoking, a more level headed person. I’m giving back more, doing humanitarian work, things like that,” Quada added.

The entertainer further hinted at the importance of having the ‘right’ people in ones circle, based on personal experiences.

“While having good people around you, they can show you what’s right from wrong, they can tell you what to do with your money, and lead you in good directions. If you surround yourself with bosses, you’re guaranteed to be a boss but if you set yourself up for failure, you know how it goes.”
