Wahs: ‘If You’re Not In Shenseea’s Video, You’re No Dolly’
Now that Shenseea has set the bar for what is an acceptable human “dolly” with her latest music video release, Dancehall deejay Wahs has a message for some of the ladies out there.
Wahs, given name Eshawn Gabbidon, who is the brother of YengBadness deejay Intence made the rounds on social media yesterday when he declared: “If you’re not in Shenseea’s video, you is no dolly!”
Apparently, the DM Full Up deejay received a text message from a young lady recently, who described herself to him as his “future dolly,” which he found rather disturbing.
According to Wahs, who decided to share the exchange on an Instagram video, only the likes of Shenseea and her video vixens, Moyann, and dance trio Prettii Pretti, TC and Rebel are regarded to the standard of living dolls.
“So I wake up and see a message from a young lady, she’s like ‘hey Wahs wassup? I’m your new future dolly’,” Wahs began, to detail the conversation to his viewers.
“I’m like, ‘how can you be a future dolly and I don’t sawn you in Shenseea new video?’”
“She’s like ‘oh shut the f#ck up’. I’m like ‘mam calm down. I don’t sawn you in Shenseea video so you cannot be a dolly’.”
Feeling quite strongly about the situation, Wahs then decided to issue the PSA to those who loosely use the term ‘dolly’ to refer to themselves.
“So all these young girls [who] keep posting bout dolly dis, dolly dat, if you not in Shenseea video, you is no dolly!” he said.
Shenseea’s newly released music video Dolly has certainly resonated with fans and clearly mostly the fellas. The Blessed singer who portrays herself as a life-size Barbie doll in the visuals, also declares “Mi look like a dolly” in the track. With the company of Dancehall starlet Moyann and dancing elites, Prettii Prettii, TC and Dancing Rebel strutting their stuff, they are a hard act to beat. The music video has since accumulated over half million views in just 2 days of its release.
As for Wahs’ views on the matter, many fans sided with him while others couldn’t quite get past his articulate patios delivery.
“Him sound so eloquent wid it 😅🤣🤣🤣🤣 a dat have mi” said one person.
Others joined in, “U better go saw two grammar book and tek dem up sir” and “The fact that he repeated the word twice, i know it wasn’t a mistake the first-time 😮😂😂😂.”
“Ummmmmm I wanna say so much rn but I’m just gonna “saw” this and say nothing 😩,” choked back another.
Wahs turned heads when he collaborated with Intence on the track DM Full Up in 2020, which has since raked in over 2.7 million YouTube views. Later appearing on the track Yeng Badness last year to again score big, accumulating 1.5 millions views. Other notable tracks under his belt are Say Less, Pedal, Zooming and Simple Thing to name a few.
