Sevana To Go On Trial For Death By Dangerous Driving Charge
Reggae singer Sevana will go on trial on October 31st to fight for her freedom as she is facing a death by dangerous driving case in the Westmoreland Circuit Court.
Yesterday, Judge Steve Walters set a mention date in the Westmoreland Circuit Court for the singer and she was offered $400,000 bail with no conditions.
Attorney-at-law, Yushaine Morgan, who is representing the reggae singer requested that his client be allowed to travel without restrictions to facilitate her career.
The 30-year-old singer, whose real name is Anna Blake, is charged following an accident last May. The police reported that she was traveling along the Scott Cove main road in Whitehouse, Westmoreland, when the Honda City motor car she was driving collided with a Honda Fit going in the opposite direction. Ordia Cordiel, who was in the Fit, sustained severe injuries and was admitted to the Black River Hospital. She died on May 30. The police charged Sevana on June 1.
Sevana is known for the singles Mango, If You Only Knew and Man Down.
Protoje signed Sevana under his In.Digg.Nation Collective label. She released her eponymous EP in 2016.
Last April, the In.Digg.Nation Collective entered into a record deal with RCA Records and Six Course Media Group, through which music by In.Digg.Nation musicians, including Sevana would be released.
In July, Sevana released If You Only Knew, the first single on her second EP, Be Somebody .
