Tommy Lee Sparta Rejoices In Daughter’s Recovery After Shooting
Incarcerated dancehall star Tommy Lee Sparta is happy about his daughter’s recovery, following a shooting in Flanker, St. James which left her hospitalized and a 9-year-old boy dead almost two years ago.
In an Instagram post today, Sparta shared a video of his daughter participating in a physiotherapy session to rehabilitate her hand, which was injured during the shooting.
“My baby hand is getting well, nah lie unno fi gi mi mi props enno me a behave me self crime an violence must stop…it no pay (moneybag emoji) it cost love is the way,” the Blessings singer wrote in the caption.
Tommy Lee Sparta’s daughter is seen performing multiple rotations on a hand exercise machine. Hand physiotherapy, otherwise known as hand therapy, is a non-surgical rehabilitation process performed by physical or occupational therapists to manage hand disorders and injuries. Hand physiotherapy involves the use of different physical methods, including exercise, wound care, and splinting.

According to reports from the Corporate Communications Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, three men: Martino Kellier also known as Tino; a person identified as Bobo; and an unidentified individual had an altercation one fateful Sunday afternoon in March 2020.
At around 5:00 p.m, the argument resulted in gunfire that led to the shooting of a nine-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl. The boy died, while the girl, Tommy Lee Sparta’s daughter, was hospitalized in stable condition.
Tommy Lee Sparta, whose real name is Leroy Russell, hails from Flanker, the gritty St James community long plagued by crime and violence. He has been incarcerated for over a year after he pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition in March 2021 and was sentenced to three years in prison.
