Wesrok Releases Video For ‘Try To Hold Me’ With Masicka
Country reggae singer Wesrok is pumped up about the video for his latest single, Try to Hold Me featuring dancehall star Masicka, which was released on Friday, January 28th.
“People are really excited about this video. Masicka has a large online following and he has a flair that complements my voice well and the fusion is great. This is a great way to start off the year 2022 with a bang,” Wesrok, whose real name is Percival Buddan, said.
The visuals for the Try to Hold Me single were shot by Icey Jace Production.
Dancehall star Masicka is riding a hot streak as his debut album, 438, spent seven consecutive weeks on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. Masicka is also currently the No.1 artist in Jamaica, according to YouTube’s Music Charts and Insights, with 8.28 million views recorded on the island over the last month.
The deejay’s top songs in Jamaica over the last month were Suicide Note, King and Moments with Stefflon Don.
The Suicide Note star is welcoming the fusion of the country and dancehall genres and was spotted on set with Wesrok two weeks ago as they shot the final scenes of the video.
“Dancehall music cannot stay in one little box forever, when the music grows, it reaches larger audiences and keeps its authenticity. The music is dynamic, always evolving,” he said.
