Reggae toaster/producer Suga Roy is beaming with pride that his latest single, ‘Nah Go Run’ featuring the Fireball Crew has been generating waves internationally, charting on iTunes top 100 reggae singles chart.

“The feedback on the airwaves has been incredible globally, from Jamaica on the top radio stations, and on stations in continents of Europe and Africa. Even through the pandemic, we worked continuously with purpose and vision to achieve our set goals for 2022,” Suga Roy, whose given name Leroy Moore, said.

The single, which was released on January 21, features long time collaborators The Fireball Crew Conrad Crystal and Zareb. The powerful song peaked last week at number 6 on the iTunes Top 100 reggae singles.

The single is part of a new album by the trio called ‘Love My Foundation’ which will be released worldwide on all digital streaming platforms on February 25, 2022.

“The first singles from the album are ‘Boo Ba Boom’ from the Lots Of Signs rhythm and ‘Nah Go Run’ is on the Hot Milk rhythm (which spawned Barrington Levy and Beenie Man’s Murderer). Both are getting a lot of rotation on the radio station, these two riddims are classic from the old school era of reggae music, and we are pleased with the great responses from the fans so far,” he said.

Most of the songs were recorded with Suga Roy’s Fireball Crew Band and musicians Danny Dennis and Alphanso Craig. Suga Roy, who credits the late producer Bobby Digital with giving him production tips, scored a major hit with Busy Signal’s cover of Shanty Town in 2015 on his Fireball Records imprint.

The lanky artist continues to team with longtime collaborators, singers Conrad Crystal and Zareb with whom Suga Roy has created a masterful brand of reggae roots infused with dancehall. They previously released an album in 2016 dubbed Honoring The Kings of Reggae which covered classics such as Bob Marley’s So Much Trouble and Desmond Dekker’s Shanty Town.

Suga Roy is a reggae toaster who hails from Racecourse, Clarendon. He has been recording since 1992. Zareb, a journeyman artiste from Clarendon, while singer Conrad Crystal is best known for the 1985 hit song, True Love Will Never Die.
