Reacting to a jab her nemesis Spice made about her infertility issues with which she has been grappling throughout her childbearing years, Minister Marion Hall has reacted forcefully, declaring that she will ‘not turn the other cheek’ as Christ had allegorically stated during his Sermon on the Mount.

Hall’s declaration came days after Spice shared an Instagram post aimed at her, making references to her fertility issues, which Hall has said, in the past, has prevented her from carrying a baby full-term, due in part to the sexual violation she had suffered as a little girl.

“Today’s scripture is Mathew 7 vrs 15. Don’t forget that a Church goer is different from a Christian. I rather know who I am in the sight of God than fight for peoples love and attention. Once again you speak Malicious lies against me and my kids but now I know why God never bless you with None. What a mockery to God and a disgrace to the pulpit,” Spice had posted on her Instagram page on Monday.

Spice shared her post after Hall, during a sermon on Sunday, said she had advised the Grammy nominee against terminating one of her two pregnancies.

On Monday, Hall shared a video of her song 2007 song Infertility , (which she had dedicated women who were unsuccessfully trying to have children), from her Walk Out album, and noted that she had penned the track, after she was jeered by other women in Dancehall after she suffered a second miscarriage.

“I did this song years ago, after I had yet another miscarriage, and females in the music industry was using it against me. We all have different purpose here on earth,” she noted.

A while later, on Facebook, she declared that she was ready to battle any of the devil’s archangels, whether in the natural or the spiritual realm.

“It’s funny how when the devil is doing all he can to bring God people down, some people cheer him and his people on, but when a Christian decides to not turn the other cheek, we get judged,” she stated.

“I’m so glad that I’m not Jesus, doe I’m trying to be more like him. I’m still under construction, so anything rises against me, will not prosper in the natural or the spiritual. I’m not having it, so any forces from earth or hell come up against me, will get a Saul or a Peter, cause i will not turn the other jaw for no box up. Wrong Christian,” she added, declaring that she “does not curse”.

Hall’s reference to “turn the other jaw”, is an often misinterpreted quote from Christ, who told his followers on two occasions, in the Books of Matthew and Luke, to “turn the other cheek” if someone strikes you on one cheek, which theologists have asserted, does not mean people are to allow others to do whatever they want with them, but rather, is saying that “God will handle it”.

Her references to Saul and Peter, appear to be the Old Testament’s King Saul the first king of Israel, who reigned from 1020 to 1000 BC and who, according to the Christian bible, marshalled his military forces to fight the Ammonites, Edomites, Moabites, Amalekites and the Philistines.

The Peter she describes is The Apostle St. Peter, to whom Jesus gave “the keys of the kingdom of heaven”, but who did not hesitate to whip out his sword to chop off one of the ears of one of the men who came to arrest Jesus shortly before his crucifixion.

Hall, who has raised three children, including an adopted daughter and a niece, had poured out her heart in the song Infertility, and in her intro had stated that “infertility is a word that a lot of people are ashamed to mention”, and that “people act as if it’s a crime if you can’t have a child”.

At the time of the song’s release, then Lady Saw had told South Florida Caribbean News that she was moved to write the song “immediately after her second miscarriage.”

She also said that she wanted to share her pain with her fans and all the people to understand a woman’s worth.  At the time she had also said that she noticed infertility was a worldwide concern when she revisited her Manhattan doctor every three months for blood work and would see an entire “new set of women come in with problems more serious than hers”.

At the same time, she said that “a couple of singers were making remarks and insinuating…How can I be the muma of dancehall when I have no kids?”.

“People feel if you can’t breed or get pregnant, then you must not be a real woman, but they are not God. If I keep losing these babies and I never have a child of my own, then god knows what is best. It does not change anything. I have three adopted children and still support so many more, so I have a lot of love to give,” she had said.

She had pointed out that even though she did not give birth to a child, she was going to share all her love with other people’s children, especially those that were unwanted, in the meantime.

In her Infertility outro, she had added that the women like herself who tended to have miscarriages, should not give up, as once they give love to other people’s children, that was what mattered.

“You can say all you want about me trying to ruin my reputation/But I have so much love to give to so much unwanted kids,” she had sung, apparently referring to her detractors.
