Drake Taps Popcaan, Skillibeng For Teaser Of His ‘NOCTA X Nike Hot Step’ Shoe Line
Canadian rapper Drake appears to have recruited St. Thomas Dancehall deejays Popcaan and Skillibeng and some of the Unruly crew for a campaign video promoting his NOCTA x Nike ‘Hot Step’ Air Terra collaboration.
The Passionfruit rapper shared the 27-second clip, which was shot in Jamaica, to his Instagram and Twitter pages yesterday.
The teaser was simply, captioned “HOT STEP 😮💨☀️👣.”

In the brief clip, Popcaan appeared to be rocking the NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra “Triple White,” while Skillibeng looked on at the motorbike and quad riders who showed off the “Triple Black” version.
Black/Gold and Snakeskin are among the other colors expected.
The shoes, which are reportedly priced at $150 USD according to HighSnobiety, are expected to be released soon. Nike’s official Instagram commented on the video, cheekily writing, “Better late than never.”
“The “Way 2 Sexy” emcee elected to cook up a design that features both sleek and technical sensibilities,” HypeBeast wrote of the ‘Triple White’.
“It’s cut with a low-slung height and features a white premium leather material that forms the side panels, while mesh makes up the tongues. Lateral and medial walls are cut with layered streaks and feature ventilated holes throughout. Hits of metallic silver also arrive here on top of the tiny lateral and toe box Swooshes, the eyelets and the tongue’s official NOCTA logos. Heels also bear arch-like overlays that are reminiscent of the Nike Air Max Tailwind IV.”
“Insoles provide some lighter contrasting as they are backdropped in baby blue while the aggressively-cut midsole unit houses bold yellow Air units,” they added.
Popcaan, whose real name is Andrae Sutherland, signed to Drake’s OVO Sound in late 2018. He released his third album, Vanquish, on the label in 2019, followed by his FIXTAPE album in 2020, which featured Drake on two singles, All I Need and Twist & Turn.
He’s expected to release his fifth album this year.
Skillibeng, whose real name is Emwah Warmington, is best known for his 2020 hit Crocodile Teeth.
In March 2021, Drake shouted out the EastSyde star boy in an Instagram Story, while Skillibeng’s gunplay anthem blared on the then newly-relaunched OVO Sound Radio.
