In the aftermath of being mocked for kissing his bodyguard on the lips, Ghananian Dancehall artist Shatta Wale clad himself in a pink wig and a pink beret, and assumed a feminine character, in a skit on Facebook Live which he said was aimed at teaching fans “how to kiss”.

Yesterday, with his compatriot Mona 4 Real’s song Fine Girl, as his theme, and a hairdresser’s mannequin head as a prop, the Dancehall King singer, went into character, behaving like a “woman who had gone to town”, as described by one Ghananian publication.

The self-proclaimed King of African Dancehall, who has in the past voiced collabs with Popcaan, Mavado, Skillibeng, Munga Honourable and Aidonia, seemed oblivious of the fact that acting effeminate as a Dancehall artist is frowned upon, as between, stroking his wig, limping his wrists, spreading his fingers and smacking his lips, gave his followers 20 minutes of feminine parody.

“Oh my gawd, oh my gawd. I’m gonna show you all how to kiss today, oh my gawd,” he said at the beginning of the video after placing the mannequin on his desk.

“Nowadays people complain bout kiss and kiss and kiss…,” he continued, adding that he was going to show his followers the proper technique, using the mannequin, later adding: “Some people don’t know how to kiss; is like they want to swallow you… If you want to kiss a girl and the girl say no, just try.  Just try and kiss very smoothly.  Three times the girl will fall in love, anywhere you are,” he added as he kissed the mannequin thrice.

As he continued his antics, he thanked his followers who had commented on his looks, for their compliments, and said he was thinking of entering the Miss Ghana beauty contest.

“Thank you thank you guys say I’m looking pretty, thank you, thank you.  I don’t know why I am so pretty,” he said.

“People will think that I cannot do Miss Ghana.  Let me tell you something, Miss Ghana is not about how the way how your buttocks is big or the way how your breasts is big… and I tell them that God forbid, people don’t know that I am beautiful in my brain.  I am so beautiful that when I have my weave on, I feel like my brains coming out,” he added.

As he continued with the absurdities, the My Level artist spoke of love and passion.

“If you don’t know love, die!”  he said before erupting in a giggle.

“I feel so happy when I am telling people who don’t know love that they should die,” he added as he tittered again.

Shatta’s skit resulted in him being compared to Bobrisky, a Nigerian transgender woman known for her presence on Snapchat and Instagram.

Some followers in jeering him, brought the strife between Russia and Ukraine into the mix.

“World war III is going on, shatta Wale is live on Facebook to talk nonsense  this world no balance,” Bukari Ayuba.

“Shattawale if you really a dancehall king insult putin for us,” one follower said, while another added: “Shatta wale please say something about Ukraine and Russia cus I don’t know what’s wrong with Putin… Please pressure akuffo addo let him speak about Ukraine and Russia fight”.

Others said that Shatta was making a fool of himself, as his career had flopped.

“Your music career die so turn it to comedian saaa na wobey3 no dien,” one man said.

“Somebody who wants to be treated like Jay Z look at what he is doing on here?

Shatta Wale stirred controversy several days ago, after he popped a kiss on his bodyguard, embraced him tightly, and then pinned one of his diamond-encrusted chains around the man’s neck to demonstrate what he said was ‘appreciation for the security officer’s hard work and loyalty to his Empire’.
