Jamaican singer Shenseea has finally released her debut album Alpha today after five years in music.  Already, thousands of fans are sharing their favorite moments from the 14-track set, and by all indications, the reception has been largely positive.

The album, which was released under Rich Immigrants/Interscope Records, debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Reggae Album charts. Having given the project a few spins, here are some of the favorite moments from the album, according to the fans.

Best Song

Henkel Glue, which features the Doctor Beenie Man, seems to be the top contender. The song title started trending at No. 1 on Jamaican Twitter, only a few hours after the album’s release. From the memes, to the tweets of commendation—it’s pretty obvious that listeners love the Dancehall track which was co-produced by Chimney Records and Canadian duo Banx & Ranx.

Henkel Glue to the other songs on the album,” tweeted popular fashion designer BootlegRocstar.

“Look how dem did dash weh Beenie until now unu tight like Henkel Glue,” added @Adrian_lawless

“Then unuh hear the beat them pan #Alpha how them solid and profound. No mi cry eno. Yo hear the beat pan Henkel glue… Go listen yah man cuz them beats be slapping. #Shenseea #romeichent,” @shennynika joined in.

Meanwhile, @Di_Short1 joined in the conversation, sharing the same sentiments. “Yup, Henkel glue definitely my favorite from the album.”

Even her Dancehall counterparts are raving over the track—among others. Bad Gyal Ce’Cile left this missive commending the 25-year-old.

“Okayy..shenseea…I went straight to Henkel. And I felt so f-cking proud. Meeda Bex if a pure foreign sitten….This feels like Beenie at his best and I’m glad ur roots is there. The reggae with Sean Paul has a unique stamp on it. It’s you. Yes mi proud of you. Target bad. Hangover niceeee. Ima have to keep listening to these for a minute. But me hear Jamaica, me hear we culture and me hear you, in all the ways you can be. #solid. Me did worried for a bit. Well,, u haven’t left us. My fav is Body Count BTW. GREAT JOB @romeichentertainment,” she said under Shenseea’s last Instagram post.

Romeich Major, Shenseea’s manager responded, “@badgyalcecile sound like u nuh listen shen x anthem yet 😂😂😂”

Body Count

We had to allot a special section for Body Count, which is among the crowd’s favorites and which, coincidentally, dropped just after American rapper Lil Durk remarked that he is “so drawn” to his fiancée, India Royal because she’s got a “low body count.”  Per Bossip, the rapper was speaking with the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast.

This, of course, didn’t sit well with many Twitter users, who accused him of being hypocritical after already fathering six children.

Shenseea’s Body Count seems to be a perfect counteraction, which arrived at the perfect time.

“Baby if yuh want mi nuh worry ’bout my punani
You wanna f-ck a yardie
So nothing else matter when wi horny
…Don’t worry bout my body count
Jus try mek that body count
Jus mek di body count
Jus mek di body count,” she sings.

Her fans have rated this one a solid hit.

“Shen put her foot Inna “BODY COUNT” enuh ??!!! Mighty God of Daniel !! #Alpha #Shenseea @SHENYENG 🐉🔥🤌🏾💙”

“Shenseea releasing an album this very weekend with a song called body count is really something. Internet been a talk bout it all week”

Biggest Skip

While there appears to be more love than ‘hate’ for the project, some listeners wish she didn’t include her old Tyga feature, Blessed.

“Why did shenseea put blessed on her album? it’s literally 14 years old…,” tweeted @kraaawse.

In a saucy clap back, Shenseea replied on twitter, “Cause it’s my album and I can.”

It seems that some of the distaste is stemming from the international flavour on the single.

“I need the shenseea solo version for blessed that doesn’t have that stoopid lardass tyga on it,” said @FunnyLittleFro1

“Shenseea’s album track list looks like hot garbage, and why tf is “Blessed” on there? Kmt,” added @6ixx_RM

Best Feature

Henkel Glue is again a strong contender, but it would be unfair to not mention the Sean Paul collaboration—Lying If I Call It Love—as well. Most listeners seem to be indulging in the Jamaican collaborations, as opposed to the Tyga, 21 Savage, Megan Thee Stallion or Offset cuts.

@TheTallJamaican tweeted the “chef’s kiss” gif, when referring to Lying If I Call It Love.

“OH?! b-tch this shenseea and sean paul track is a vibe!” Added @llerameilla.

@NigelBigMeech shared the same view,” Shenseea and Sean Paul slaps too 👋🏻 🔥😮‍💨 #Alpha”

Best Thing About ALPHA

Before the album’s debut, the Jamaican entertainer promised a variety of genres. While some were apprehensive about the deviation from Dancehall, the varied mix of sounds and genres is coincidentally the fans’ favorite thing about the project.

In one of the pinned comments under Shenseea’s Friday morning IG post, the fan lauded the singjay’s versatility.

“Versatility??? 10/10. Ago make sure my granny listen to Shenseea now. Literally made for everyone, never done before 😭”

Over on Twitter, the feeling was mutual.

“Shenseea’s album is a whole vibe!!! It’s the perfect mixture of reggae, pop, dancehall and R&b, the songs cater to every kind of listener. Her versatility really showed on this album. Absolutely LOVE IT 🔥🔥❤️” said @Ge_Marie97

“Proud of Shenseea! Stay versatile and collect the real bag,” @DJFresh_RL contributed.

Shenseea even had some fans eating their words.

“I’d like to formally apologize for doubting Shenseea, the album is beautiful, versatile, even Lick came on and I was still vibing. I hope it goes number 1. ❤️” said @ItsShaday
