Serani Teams Up With Kabaka Pyramid For ‘Gonna Be Alright’
Billboard-charting dancehall star Serani will lead out the highly-anticipated dancehall riddim project, the Spot On Riddim, which will be released on March 18 via VPAL on all digital download platforms.
The first single, Gonna Be Alright, a heavyweight team up between Serani and Kabaka Pyramid, will be released from the compilation on March 18th. Visuals, shot by Linkz of Notnice Records, will be released at the same time.
Serani has high hopes for the project.
“This song ‘Gonna Be Alright’ means a lot to me especially because I got the chance to work with a good friend of mine, Anthony Taylor on this project. We both, along with Vanni (Giovanni Powell), spent hours in the studio to get this song to a point where the four of us were happy with the outcome,” Serani said, while also paying tribute to ” Kabaka Pyramid’s dedication to his craft”.
“This song is also very special to me because the message relates directly with the struggles of our people,” Serani said.
Serani started out as a musician. In the early 2000s he and childhood friends – Craig and David Harrisingh – formed DASECA Productions. His hit singles include Skip to Ma Lu, Doh featuring Bugle, Stinking Rich, Study People, Romance Me, Mama Still Hungry, and the Billboard-charting hit No Games.
The project is a joint partnership between first-time producer Anthony Taylor of Spot On Records and Giovanni Powell of the Element Music Group.
“Radio is really excited about this project, especially with the release of this collaboration between two major stars, Serani and Kabaka Pyramid. It was really great to combine with the Element Music Group for this project. What drives my vision is to make good, authentic music so internationally, people can hear it and recognize it is good production and great music,” Spot On Records chief executive officer Anthony Taylor said.
The project features heavyweight names such as Richie Spice, Turbulence, Jafrass, Gyptian and Khalia, and Snatcha Lion. Emerging talents such as Devlon, Kimico, and Karbon round out the project.
