Thankful is a monument to gratitude; a reminder to seek comfort in one’s blessings even when it’s easier to languish in frustration. It’s not difficult to imagine that Blvk H3ro, whose mainstream prospects continue to surge, could’ve used the song to highlight his hard-won professional triumphs. Instead, however, he opts to broaden his scope as he gives thanks for more universal and enduring gifts: life itself and the people who help give it meaning.

Over a bouncy, soul-tinged riddim produced by Troublemekka, Blvk H3ro defiantly navigates his mind through negative spells and situations. Doubt, like a dense haze, obscures and distorts the reality of those who fall victim to it and the Portmore-raised artiste is no exception. Rather than wallow in self-pity, however, H3ro takes stock of the wonders of life and remembers to appreciate the moment in this upful, forward-looking track.
