Despite a cease and desist warning from Dancehall producer Shab Don, anonymous Jamaican YouTuber Sir P says he’s unfazed and that his “movement” will not be stopped by any kind of intimidation “whether it is violence or legal”.

Yesterday, Shab Don, whose real name is Linval “Shabba” Thompson Jr., and his lawyer Donovan Collins threatened to expose Sir P’s identity in light of the YouTuber’s allegedly disparaging statements and accusations, dating back to 2020.  However, Sir P, in a new video shared on Thursday morning on his Politricks Watch channel, declared that any intimidation tactics used against him will not be successful.

“At no point, I want anybody listening to this to think that they can use any form of intimidation whether it is violence or any kind of legal intimidation to stop this movement,” Sir P said. “It’s not going to happen.”

“My country means the most to me, the future of my country means the most to me. Even if I have to become a martyr, so be the case, people live and die every single day. We can pretend like we nuh see wah gwaan in the country, like we don’t see the people who a mash up the country and hope for the best.  Nuff people are happy with doing that, I am not doing that. I decided, at least a couple years now that will not be. I am going to do something about it and this is my small way of doing something about it and it has gathered similar people, people who are like minded,” he continued.

Shab Don was freed of gun-related charges earlier this month, while his co-accused was sentenced to six years in prison.  His lawyer Donovan Collins, in a video shared yesterday, contended that the producer was not involved in any criminal activity and that Sir P’s “defamatory videos” have caused Shab Don “severe reputational harm.”

“We are demanding that Sir P of Politricks Watch cease and desist from publishing any further defamatory videos about Mr. Linval Thompson Jr,” he continued.

On Thursday, Sir P also revealed that it wasn’t the first time he’s faced off with a lawyer.

“Do you have any idea how many times this happen already? Do you have any idea how many other lawyers do the same thing?…You think you are on to something groundbreaking. You think you have me cornered…This is nothing new,” he said defiantly.

“These people think they are playing chess, but in reality ah snake and ladders,” he said at one point.

Shab Don Records, which comprises Thompson Jr and Carlos Clarke, became one of the most sought-after production houses in Dancehall around 2019. The label specialized in Dancehall and Trap fusions and was initially formed as a production outfit for the Squash-led 6ixx group which was based in Montego Bay.

Shab Don’s most notable projects include Money Fever (Squash), Shub Out (Teejay), Any Weather (Vybz Kartel), Nuh Rate Dem (Jahvillani), and Baby Yuh Tight (Popcaan).
