Masicka snagged the Billboard plaques for his 16-track debut album 438, which opened at the No. 2 spot on the Reggae Albums Charts following the release on December 3, 2021. The album also made its way on Billboard’s Heatseekers Album awards, peaking at No. 14.
According to data provided to DancehallMag, 438 moved 5,164 equivalent album units from sales and streaming in the United States during its first three weeks in December. This included 2,864 units (733 copies) sold during the first week of release.
The album spent 7 weeks on the Billboard Reggae chart—a feat his compatriots, including Alkaline, Vybz Kartel, Usain Bolt, and Spice failed to accomplish, each having only spent one week on the sales and streaming-driven chart with the release of their respective albums.

The Leader deejay also won big earlier this year in March when he picked up two IRIE FM Music Awards for Male Deejay Of The Year, and Album Of The Year for the 438 album.

His Big Body Benz gold plaque was due in credit to his 2020 feature on German rapper Bonez MC’s Big Body Benz. The Gold certification was awarded to the Gifted deejay last year, by the BMVI (The German Federal Music Industry) after the song sold more than 200,000 units in the country. The track was released on Bonez MC’s album Hollywood, which also received Gold certification.
Keeping up the momentum, Masicka, 28, dropped some new music for his 1Syde fans earlier this month. History, released on April 3, has racked up over 2.4 million views on YouTube, while Legend with Jahmiel , the title track off Jahmiel’s new album, is catching up in views at 848k.
