Ziggy Marley Recruited By LeAnn Rimes For New Song ‘The Only’

How Do I Live singer LeAnn Rimes has enlisted fellow Grammy Award winner Ziggy Marley, Ledisi, and Ben Harper for a new song, the only, off her upcoming album, god’s work.  The album will be released on September 16, via Thirty Tigers/ The Orchard.

the only, written and produced by Rimes and Darrell Brown, is a feel-good, World Americana-Reggae blended track, according to a release. “The lyrics focus on the importance of being there for each other and helping others out, with the chorus emphasizing ‘the only way we’re gonna get there is if we hold each other’s hand.'”

“the only is a departure from LeAnn’s traditional sound, giving fans another taste of the genre-bending influences featured on her forthcoming record, god’s work,” the release noted.

LeAnn Rimes added, “It is an honor to have such a unique and diverse group of artists joining me on this song. Artists of like mind and heart that are also spreading a message of love in the world. ‘the only’ really is all about community and connection, so I felt inspired to create the track in community with those I deeply admire and respect.”

As the former lead member of the family band Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers and as a solo artist, Ziggy has amassed eight Grammy Award wins.

American singer Ben Harper has three Grammy wins, R&B singer Ledisi has one win.

Rimes’ How Do I Live holds the record as Billboard’s Hot 100 all-time No. 1 hit by a female artist and continues to rank No. 4 on Billboard’s “Greatest of All Time: Hot 100 Song.”
