Supa Dups Grateful For His Musical Accomplishments

Black Chiney producer and songwriter Dwayne “Supa Dups” Chin-Quee is relishing his musical accomplishments across multiple genres.

Supa Dups, who in addition to being a producer, is a drummer and music selector, has shared that his work has amassed 49 platinum certifications, 21 Latin Platinum certifications, and 9 gold certifications in the US, and that he was a 3-time Grammy Award nominee.

“I don’t know if this is everything with all my certifications in the USA, but not too shabby anyhow. #grateful 🙏,” the Kingston-born producer, who is now based in Miami, noted on his Instagram page on Wednesday.

Chin-Quee’s three Grammy Award nominations are for his contributions to Drake’s Views (2016), Bruno Mars’ Doo-Wops & Hooligans (2010), and Eminem’s Recovery (2010), which were all nominated for Album Of The Year.

On Drake’s Views, he co-wrote and co-produced Too Good with Rihanna, which peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, and Controlla, which peaked at No. 16 on the Hot 100.  Both songs are certified 3X Platinum in the US.

Supa Dups, who is a founder of the Black Chiney Sound System, also contributed to two songs on Bruno Mars’ debut Doo-Wops & Hooligans namely, Our First Time and Liquor Store Blues, which featured Damian Marley and is currently certified Gold in the US.

He also co-produced and co-wrote the Gold-certified W.T.P. on Eminem’s seventh studio album Recovery.

His other Platinum-certified singles include PartyNextDoor’s Not Nice (2016) and Drake‘s Signs (2018).

On Nicki Minaj’s 2018 album Queen, he co-produced and co-wrote Bed featuring Ariana Grande, which is certified Gold in the US.

Shakira’s El Dorado album, on which he contributed to four songs, is certified Diamond Latin in the US for sales exceeding 600,000 units.   Supa had c0-produced Nada, Amarillo, Comme moi with Black M, and What We Said with Magic!

More recently, he co-produced Still I Wonder, Weed & Ting and A Vibe  on Protoje‘s In Search Of Lost Time (2020) album.

He also co-wrote and co-produced Spice’s Frenz from her debut 10 album (2021), and Shenseea‘s Lying If I Call It Love with Sean Paul on her debut album Alpha (2022).

Supa Dups contributed to three tracks on Sean Paul’s recently released Scorcha album, namely No Fear , which features Damian Marley and Nicky Jam, Good Day, and Wine Up.
