Stylysh Makes Comeback With ‘Not Alone’ After Obeah Rumors
Two years ago, rumors circulated around the industry that Dancehall starlet Stylysh had a mystery illness, and that she was the latest victim of ‘obeah’. A promising career launched by singles such as Mi a Wife and collabs with the Worl’ Boss himself was stymied by what many believed to be the ‘dark arts’.
However, these days, Stylysh has bounced back. She splits her time between her daughter, her successful online retail business as the owner of Stylysh Fashion Factory, and her Dancehall career.
In an interview with DancehallMag, she shot down the obeah rumors, but confirmed that she is making a comeback in the music industry after a prolonged sickness triggered by a mystery illness decimated her savings. The ‘mystery illness’ caused her to lose a lot of weight, prevented her from eating and threatened her ability to continue to work as an artist.
“Ah God alone mi say, no obeah ting,” Stylysh said. “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.”
The Me a Wife singer said the illness revolved around her digestive system.
“During the pandemic, I was very sick, I spent over $900,000 on doctor bills trying to figure out what was going on with me and also with the pandemic I realized how precious time is so I get very close to my family spending more time with my daughter basically working on me,” she said.
Stylysh, who is known for the singles Prison Wife and Me a Wife, says that the global COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world in some unimaginably sad ways.
“I’ve seen where a lot of people lose their sanity during the pandemic, a lot of people lost their loved ones. It’s like the world has not been the same. I am ready to pick up where I left off musically, my fans missed me and I missed them more,” she said.
She recently performed on a show called Bellevue Fest alongside Dexta Daps and Iyara at The Genasis Event Center in Orlando, Florida in May.
“It was straight ‘shellings’, when you are talented, no one can take that and with God in the midst I can do anything,” she said.
She is promoting a new single called ‘Not Alone’ which was released on the Fearles Muzik INC. label. The song appears on the Dark Memory rhythm produced by Dolofearles.
“This is an inspirational song that can give spiritual food to people struggling to make ends meet and fighting dark spiritual forces,” she said.
