Joe Bogdanovich, CEO of Downsound Entertainment, has shared his expectations of the lineup of artists, who are billed to perform at New Rules on July 2, at Independence Park (National Stadium Car Park).

“I have always been a fan of Alkaline and the team, and I love how they have expanded into the production of the entertainment business. It’s a big thing from where they are coming from and I am here to give them all the support in the world,” Bogdonavich told DancehallMag at the New Rules media launch on June 23.

Mr. Bogdanovich lauded Alkaline’s management and expressed his eagerness to see the performances of each artist at the New Rules Festival.

“Kerry and Alkaline are doing some good things in the business, which is a big business to get into. The entire team has presented a fresh new look, they are a little bit older than the generation Covid artists so we will see how they do on the stage. It is a good positive energy that people are into,” he said.

The New Rules lineup includes Skeng, Jahvillani, Aidonia, Stalk Ashley, Elephant Man, Macka Diamond, Marcy Chin, Pretti Pretti and more performing in concert with The Man Himself, Alkaline.

Bogdanovich credited Shabba Ranks, Bounty Killer, and Beenie Man for paving the way for the current generation.

“Bounty and Beenie took the mantle and went a long way from Shabba and all those great artists from back then, and now it’s time for these new artists to shine and see if they can go the distance.”

The CEO told DancehallMag that his two newest artists, Dyani and Marcy Chin are already doing big things and have done successful performances in Europe.

Marcy Chin, who gave an energetic performance at the launch, said it is a huge deal for her to be performing at New Rules Festival and that, although she has never met Alkaline, she has been a big fan of the Juggernauth deejay for many years.

Bogdanovich’s Reggae Sumfest 2022 is also back after a two-year hiatus.

The Montego Bay festival will take place on July 22 and 23, with Alkaline, Shenseea, Spice, Aidonia, Masicka, Govana, TeeJay, Skeng, Ding Dong, Jahshii and more taking the stage on Night 1.
