Dancehall star Masicka says his next album is coming soon, even as he celebrates a new milestone for his ‘438’ debut, which was released in December 2021.  According to the Leader singer, his first album has hit 100 million streams across all platforms. “Same old 📖 love goes out to the fans and the team. Next album soon. #100millionstreams,” he wrote in the caption alongside the album’s cover art.

The 16-track project was released independently through Genasyde/1Syde Records and features collaborations with Popcaan, Stefflon Don, Sean Paul and Dexta Daps.

438 debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart and had spent a total of 7 weeks in the Top 10 chart—a feat topped only by Shenseea (9 weeks) and Koffee (13 weeks), among recently released albums by Jamaican artists.

Other artists such as Sean Paul, Alkaline, Vybz Kartel, Usain Bolt, and Spice only spent one week on the sales and streaming-driven chart with their recent albums.

According to data provided to DancehallMag, 438 moved 5,164 equivalent album units from sales and streaming in the United States during its first three weeks in December 2021.

This included 2,864 units (733 copies) sold during the first week of release.

In April 2022, Masicka received his coveted Billboard plaques for 438, and took the opportunity to show off his other awards commemorating his musical achievements in 2021, including two IRIE FM Music Awards, and a German Gold plaque.

As for Masicka’s latest works, his track Tom Brady Freestyle produced by 1Syde Records and Mozeeko Records, dropped earlier this month (June 3) and has racked up over 1.4 million YouTube views.

Get Money , a collaboration with Dancehall duo The Yutes via Babygrande Records dropped last week (June 21).
