Skeng Gears Up For New Rules, Sumfest
Skeng has two major performances upcoming and he promises fans won’t be disappointed.
He’s among the lineup for Alkaline’s New Rules Festival, which is set to take place today, July 2, at Independence Park aka National Stadium Car Park.
“Working with tower bands on New Rules it’s a good look,” Skeng told DancehallMag. “Alkaline is one of the best, so me feel good to know me reach pon stages with some of the greats”.
The initial staging of New Rules in 2017, saw over 30,000 patrons in concert.
This year’s event will also feature Elephant Man, Aidonia, Macka Diamond, Jahvillani, Stalk Ashley, Marcy Chin, Knaxx, Star Captyn, Sykario, and Kacique, alongside Alkaline. The gates will open at 5 pm with the show time set to commence at 8 pm.
On July 22, Skeng will take on the Reggae Sumfest stage, alongside other rising acts such as Intence and Jahshii, and a number of established acts including Ding Dong, Spice, Masicka, Govana, Teejay, Jada Kingdom, and Shenseea.
“The people them will not be disappointed,” Skeng promised. “High energy, top songs and surprises. [There will be] live bands, so we deal with the ting different.”

Born Kevon Douglas, Skeng got his big break with his single Brrrp in 2020. His single Protocol with Tommy Lee Sparta, which Nicki Minaj has hailed as the “baddest” song in years, has over 30 million views on YouTube.
Heaven Passport with Intence has over 13 million views, Gvnman Shift has 24 million, and Street Cred (another Nicki favorite) has 12 million views on YouTube.
Skeng recently signed to Geejam Music with a global publishing deal.
