Embattled Dancehall producer Shab Don is maintaining his innocence in the triple murder for which he was charged on June 3, after being “positively identified in an identification parade,” according to the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

The producer’s attorney, Donahue Martin however, is insisting that his client is innocent, as he was “not even close to being anywhere near St. James in that period.”

In another matter of breaching the Corruption Prevention Act, the Salt Spring native, whose real name is Linval Thompson Jr., was represented by his attorney on Tuesday July 12, in Kingston & St. Andrew Parish court where he was granted bail, although he remains in police custody for the three counts of murder charge.

Thompson is being accused of offering an officer $2 million to get rid of the illegal weapon for which he was charged and freed in April.

Donahue Martin told DancehallMag that on July 12, for the committal procedure, Shab Don was not physically present in court.

“I can’t speak for the police but he was not physically present in court on Tuesday, but he is on bail for the matter and will face the courts on another matter on July 26, for which a bail application will be submitted.”

The producer is charged for the shooting deaths of 27-year-old Chadwell Frazer, otherwise called ‘Bomb Brain’ or ‘Chad’; 24-year-old Chamario ‘Chippy’ Calvin; and 26-year-old Toniann ‘Too Fly’ Reid.

Thompson was arrested by police in June during a targeted operation in the St. Catherine South police division following preliminary investigations into several incidents.

In May, Shab Don told DancehallMag that when he was pulled over, after realizing that it was him, police fired a shot over his head which damaged his vehicle. After coming out of the car, police officers kicked away his phone as he dropped to the ground and begged them not to shoot.
