Bounty Killer Responds To Ishawna, And What He Had To Say Was Not Pretty

“Y’ll sat there laughing how a little fly b-tty, pissen tail, Dancehall mattress witch styled me…”

Those were among the phrases Bounty Killer used to ruthlessly describe Ishawna, as he rebuked those Dancehall fans, who cheered her along when she, in her performance at Reggae Sumfest 2022, mimicked what he regards as a taboo sex act, involving a cardboard cut-out of his likeness.

Seemingly more aggravated about the response from members of the audience as opposed to Ishawna’s shenanigans, Dancehall’s One General appears to be having the last laugh, after his supporters—including his fans, comedians and music commentators—took to social media to call out Ishawna for, according to them, having dared to transgress on the rights of the Warlord.

This morning Bounty shared an Instagarm video of Super Jamz’ Dr. Ledd, who rebuked Ishawna for her conduct, which he said was aimed at getting a forward using the name of someone who was not remotely interested in her sexually.  The post was captioned: “Ishawna provoked the Killa at Reggae Sumfest! Disrespectful Act”.

Bounty Killer thanked ‘Dr. Ledd’ noting that he was older, more mature and wiser, and knew he had a certain standard to maintain, but diabolically lashed the Equal Rights artist, in ruthless fashion, while describing her conduct as a desperate act.

“We Jamaicans likes to take bad things and make jokes but when bad things happens do we find it funny? Thanks to growth and maturity, so at this age I only Act and not React.   Jamaicans y’all says how we rate the general for his contributions to the poor and the development of other artiste etc. Then y’ll sat there laughing how a little fly b-tty pissen tail dancehall mattress witch styled me right here a Jamaica who claimed them love and rate me.   That’s why I had ntn to say I leave y’all to God and Time away with my ignorance and welcome my intellect just watch tha style yah👈🏿

Equal Rights had come in for outright condemnation from Bounty Killer, and others, when it was first released in 2017.  Killer had threatened to ‘rush’ (interrupt) Ishawna if she performed the song at a concert in St. Elizabeth where they were both billed to perform that year.

At the time, Ishawna responded, telling Killer to ‘bring it on’, seemingly unmoved by his threat. She went on to perform the song in Killer’s presence at the event.  After refusing to use the same microphone that Ishawna had used, Bounty then launched into his misogynistic hits from the 90s.

On Saturday, she told the Jamaica Star that she meant no harm with her antics on the Sumfest stage. “I sat on a cardboard box.  It’s all just entertainment,” she said.

However, in his monologue, ‘Dr. Ledd’ noted that there was a “thin line between entertainment, disrespect and provocation”.

“Everyone knows what Bounty Killer stands for.  And Ishawna is allowed to exercise her art.  But not while provoking people and creating problems.  If you are seeking attenmtion, what yoi should have done was get a pictire of one of the 15 artistes, nine producers and 25 selectors that you have been with?” he asked.

“Why provoke a man who you know is against the standards that you stand for?  So that’s not entertainment to me, that’s called provocation.  Someone seeing problem and someone who is seeking attention.   That is not entertainment.  And again, when Bounty Killer react now, he is gonna be the cross and angry one right.  And all the negative people gonna run with this now because they see something that entertains the negative.  But again, there is a thin line between entertainment and provocation.  Ishawna, expose one of the men that have given you equal rights.  Do not provoke someone who did not provoke you,” he added.

Many people were expecting Bounty to respond to Ishawna on Night Two, but the Warlord acted as if he were oblivious to her shenanigans and focused on ensuring a well-delivered tribute to legendary Dancehall producer Dave Kelly.

Bounty Killer and his loyalists began having a field day yesterday, after comedian Negus Imara shared a video of himself impersonating the Warlord, in a tirade dubbed “Bounty’s Diaries” in which he ripped the Cinderella to pieces, using words so vile that they remain unmentionable, but were to the delight of Bounty’s fans.

Describing Ishawna’s performance as lukewarm, Foota Hype, who shares a child with Ishawna, also spoke briefly on the matter during his assessment of Concert Night One.

He claimed that her actions left him traumatized and that he was watching when “di whole a oonu wicked people bawl out Foota Hype” after she asked who they thought was under the third cardboard figure, after, according to him, she performed “har likkle lightweight songs”.

“Shi run it and mi hear di song start.. Mi seh waaait, dis serious… All when di performance done mi still inna shock enuh.  Mi did traumatized.  Mi a seh what is this? It buss di place fi har enuh.   Adi biggest forward shi get…  That was planned,” he said.
