Cop/Producer Noel Maitland Arrested Over Missing Girlfriend Donna-Lee Donaldson
Cop-cum-music-producer Constable Noel Maitland, the boyfriend of missing social media personality Donna-Lee Donaldson, was arrested by detectives from the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch on Wednesday in relation to her disappearance.
Maitland was arrested following a case review by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Independent Commission of Investigators (INDECOM) and other state actors.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey made the disclosure while giving an update on the case which has become a cause célèbre.
“As a result of the case review, it was agreed that there was adequate evidence to link constable Noel Maitland to the disappearance of Ms Donaldson,” Bailey said.
Meanwhile, Maitland’s attorney, Christopher Townsend, said the arrest was done in a civilized fashion.
“He was arrested on Wednesday evening, he came into the conference room and we made arrangements with C-TOC for the arrest to be made. It was done in a civil fashion. There will be a formal question and answer session to be done at a later date. He has not yet been charged,” attorney-at-law Christopher Townsend said.
Formal charges are expected to be laid against Maitland soon.
Maitland, who is also known as the music producer Noel Onetime, co-founded One Time Music in 2018 with Chevaughn Davis and Sean Townsend, according to Riddim ID. The production house’s riddims include Big Time, Pure Time, High Time, and Right Time, and they are known for the hit songs such as No Underwear by Dexta Daps, and Clarks Pon Foot by Jahvillani.
They’ve also worked with Squash, Chronic Law, I-Octane, Quada, Rygin King, Bugle, Govana, Moyann, Mavado, among others.
On July 13, Donaldson’s mother, Sophia Lugg, reported to police that she had not seen or heard from her daughter.
According to police reports, on July 11, about 10:00 pm, Donaldson was picked up at her house by her boyfriend Constable Noel Maitland in a black BMW motor car to spend the night with him at an apartment located at Chelsea Manor in Kingston.
The JCF said there is no evidence to link a female district constable, identified as District Constable Smith, to the disappearance of social media influencer Donna-lee Donaldson.
Smith, who is reportedly a part of a love triangle involving Donaldson and Maitland, the father of her child, was recently removed from the front line and placed on administrative duties.
