Stefflon Don Recruits Spice For ‘Clockwork’: Watch

Stefflon Don’s first single Clockwork from her upcoming debut album Island 54 was released yesterday, along with an official music video which dropped today (Friday, August 19) with the Queen of Dancehall, Spice.

Co-produced by Grammy Award-nominated producer BEAM, the song serves as an exciting first look into the Hurtin’ Me artist’s new 2022 collection that’s expected to drop this year.

The charismatic music video oozes Jamaican flare, courtesy of New Zealand choreographer Parris Goebel, who has worked with Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Normani, Ciara, and also Justin Bieber on his controversial Sorry video.

Speaking on the single, Stefflon Don said in a release to DancehallMag that “this track is a celebration of my Jamaican heritage and I wanted to make sure that shone through in all its elements. From the outfits, I designed for the video to collaborating with the Queen of Dancehall herself, Spice.”

The beat captures the essence of Carnival, just in time for the long-awaited Notting Hill fete this month and the UK-born rapper couldn’t be any more thrilled for its release. “It’s a song made for Carnival; to dance to, drink to and party to. I can’t wait to hear it around London on the sound systems it was made for,” she added.

Clockwork, which was released via Stefflon Don’s label V-IV London, is her second collaboration with Jamaican-born producer BEAM following Beg Mi Ah Link in December 2021.

The 16 Shots singer had a slew of new releases this year, including the Dancehall banger, Sweet Bounce which dropped just last month, Moments on Masicka’s 438 album, Bun Fi Bun featuring IQ and Like That.

Stefflon also recently appeared on Calvin Harris’ new album alongside Chloe Bailey and Coi Leray on the single Woman Of The Year.
