Beenie Man Celebrates 50th Birthday In Star-Studded Style
In a birthday celebration fit for a King, Beenie Man enjoyed his 50th milestone with family, friends, and heavy-hitters of the Jamaican music industry last night (Aug. 22) at the ROK hotel located in Downtown, Kingston.
The Girls Dem Sugar confirmed that he was born in 1972, not 1973 as is frequently reported.
Those who came out to support Beenie included Bounty Killer, who was in a cheerful spirit, Cham, NotNice, Joe Bogdanovich, Chi Ching Ching, Denique, Marcy Chin, Mr. G, Leftside, Kabaka Pyramid, and other specially invited guests.
The Warlord was first in line to send well wishes to his musical colleague.
“Tonight is for Beenie, so I want to say long love, long life, long prosperity, long blessing and long, long journey,” Killer told DancehallMag. “It has been an illustrious one, colorful one, wonderful one. We are thankful to reach the big people’s club. Give thanks to my brother, happy birthday to him again. We trodding and we badding, King and Godin.”
Mr. G was also excited to toast the Doctor.
“Beenie my friend, you’re like a column dem cyah move yuh, I am asking God for more prosperity and blessings in our coming out and going in, protect us from all seen and unseen evil,” he said.
Kabaka Pyramid told DancehallMag that he was representing the younger generation of rastas. “Big up to my general Beenie Man yuh dun know we haffi represent for health and strength. A legend in the business. A Dancehall grow we suh we haffi represent. Upful.”
The event which was scheduled to end at midnight, went on until a little after 1AM this morning to accommodate Beenie Man’s energetic performance with Bounty Killa and Cham, in a similar fashion as their Sumfest performance dedicated to Dave Kelly.

The event also saw Kabaka Pyramid joining the performances and a surprise from songstress Denique, who had the ladies screaming and the men lustfully staring at her skin-tight lime-green bodysuit.
Just after the curtains came to a close, Beenie Man rode off on his 2022 Spider bike to continue his 50th earth strong celebrations at the popular Uptown Mondays event, where he was further honored by Boom Boom and 10Tik.
Beenie declined to comment about his anticipated album other than, “I am waiting on a date for the album, until I get the date I can’t say anything.”
