Dancehall superstar Sean Paul has attributed his youthful looks to the “good food” that he eats in Jamaica, and not any cosmetic interventions.

According to The Sun, the No Lie artist, who turns 50 on January 9, “miraculously still looks years younger than he is” and insisted, in an interview, that the secret to his looks “isn’t Botox”.

“Nah man, it’s from good food. Living in Jamaica, the lifestyle is different and I’ve been blessed with that,” Sean Paul had responded to the query about whether or not he used the de-wrinkling drug.

Sean also told the publication that despite his next big milestone, being his 50th birthday in January, that it will be on a small scale, as since he already parties everyday, he will simply chill with his family.

“With it being such a monumental day though, it’s a big milestone so I will throw something,” he said.

Unlike his plans for next January, Sean Paul had celebrated his 40th birthday with a party at TAO in Las Vegas in 2013.   At the time, after enjoying signature menu items in the restaurant, he had made his way to a VIP booth in the club where he was joined by several friends, and later surprised club-goers with an impromptu performance of some of his hit songs, among them Temperature, Give It Up To Me, Like Glue and Gimme the Light, according to vegasnews.com.

In elaborating on the topic of age, the Get Busy artist also spoke of the reason he delayed starting a family until in his 40s.

“I have younger kids because of the industry. I waited and did a lot of work before it was time to build a family… Most of my kids’ friends’ parents are about 20 years younger than me,” he stated.

Even though, according to him, “life on the road is hectic and keeps me on my toes”, the Wolmer’s High School old boy said that he has no plans to retire from performing.

“It does get harder but I’ve never felt like, ‘Nah I’m not doing this any more’. I have enough money but when I come home after a hard tour, I’m like, ‘Let me rest’.   That rest is a day or two and then I’m back in the studio. I’m always doing it because I love it. Giving people that enjoyment on stage really keeps me going,” he said.

In the meantime, Sean Paul has shared clips and photos of his latest performances of his Continental Europe leg of his three-part Sorcha tour, his latest being from his show on Saturday August 20 in Hasselt, Belgium.

“Man a gyalis, you could get the sugar, but not the daddy.  Belgium you were amazing, Amsterdam now,” he noted, followed up with another clip of himself being greeted by Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy at the Reggae Lakes festival in Amsterdam, which took place on Sunday night.

General to general respec due Burna Boy,” he captioned that post.

He also shared video clips on his IG Stories, of a spliff-burning Burna Boy dancing up a storm to Gimme di Dight and of his fans singing word for word, his mega hit Temperature.

Sean Paul, who already performed at Rototom, Spain and Zamardi, Hungary, began the UK leg of the tour on Tuesday, August 23.  From then, until Saturday September 3, he will have performances in Newcastle, Leeds, Birmingham, London, Churchdown and Cardiff.

On Wednesday, August 31, he will be performing in Nottingham, then Glasgow on September 1, and then close that leg on Saturday, September 3 in Manchester, before heading off to the US to serve as headline act with Pitbull on the “Can’t Stop Us Now” tour.
