Correctional Officer Causes A Stir After Gyrating To Lusion’s Remix Of Jada Kingdom’s ‘GPP’
A video of an on-duty Jamaican Correctional Officer singing, and slow-wining, patting his rifle and taking out a condom while lip-syncing to upcoming artist Lusion’s “GPP FLIP REMIX”, an interpolation of Jada Kingdom’s GPP, has left tongues wagging, and the songstress tickled pink.
The video, which was shared by Republic of Mobay, showed the corporal singing while looking into the camera, using his rifle and a condom as props, while rotating his waistline and “jooking”, apparently in order to demonstrate to the woman of his affections, how much her lovemaking had captivated him and was driving him crazy.
In the video, the corporal, clad in blue denim and sporting a shawl and his rifle, carries out actions to match the words of the song.
“You put it dung on a Christian/You give me some without condom/yuh pumpum tun church bwoy inna gunman/yuh good h-le put mommy one bwoy inna problem” the song starts out, as the officer dances, pats his rifle and shows off his acting skills.
As the song reaches a line which points out that the woman can even sell him her body, the officer pulls out a wad of $5000 notes to illustrate his point, flips a condom and continues wining.
Jada Kingdom, who was tagged in the video, responded not with words, but with laughing, crying and fire emoticons, to register her amusement.
Many of the commenters mistakenly thought the correctional officer, who was clad in blue denim similar to the ones worn by members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, while on operation, was a policeman and declared that he was in big trouble.
“A wah di rahtid wrong wid squaddy😂😂😂pum pum deh mek him lose him mind😂😂😂😂,” one follower wrote.
“Yah when Commish see this a str8 suspension a mawnin, another noted, while one man drew for vlogger Peanut Dread’s now infamous quote.
“RaDam….. One suspension coming your way,” the commenter wrote.
Others who mistook the warder for an idle, wayward policeman, did not take kindly to the corporal’s antics and hurled condemnation at him.
“Guh fight crime an come off a tiktok,” one man ordered.
Amid the laughter, others said that the officer was sure to lose his job, with one commenter pointing out that Jada may have to hire him as part of her security detail.
“@jadakingdom you see what you have caused.😮 You better give him a job as your VIP bodyguard,” the commenter said.
The concerns of the commenters are probably as a result of a series of incidences in September last year, where disciplinary action was taken against Jamaican policemen and women who had followed a new trend, posting videos of themselves on TikTok sporting their uniforms with their badge numbers visible and waving their rifles around rifles, while lip-syncing to Skeng’s Gunman Shift.
One video showed two young policewomen dancing and pointing their rifles at the camera, while another had shown an unarmed policeman, supposedly in a living room, cut also clad in full uniform, dancing and singing the lyrics of the song which pays homage to gang members.
Days after the videos began circulating, Commissioner of Police Major General Antony Anderson had stated that he was concerned about the conduct of the officers.
The former army man had said that upon listening to the lyrics of the songs being played in the background of the video, he noted that it was not consistent with what the force or the general public would expect from police officers.
“We also saw that in the videos the police officers had weapons on them and that’s certainly not the image we would expect of our officers,” he had stated.
The Commissioner had also said that the officers who appeared in videos would have to undergo remedial training, in order to ensure that they became better ‘aligned’ with the best values of the Constabulary, if they were to remain in the organization.
He had also said that the Police High Command had also published guidelines in the Force Orders setting out how the issue would be dealt with going forward.
