Nah Sell Out artist Khago has taken umbrage to the fact that many Dancehall artists appear to take delight in “bigging up” gunmen, and never ever decent, academically-inclined youths or youngsters who are making a positive mark on society.

“A spade a spade and granny seh anyhow yuh spread yuh bed a same way suh yuh lay dung inna it.  Yes.  Yuh neva si no artiste a big up no scholarship pickney yet?  Big up any likkle bway weh just pass fi guh a Calabar?  No.  Anytime artiste a big up anybaddy a gunman dem big up an murdera,” Khago said in an audio clip he shared on his Instagram page.

According to Khago, many artists surround themselves with entourages that are littered with miscreants, and ought not to be surprised when these same elements turn upon them.

“99 percent a any time yuh si artiste a roll a bare gunman dem ha side a dem.  Man weh have 35 duppy (murders committed) a walk wid – wanted man.  An yuh haffi undastan seh badman nuh loyal to nobaddy away fram badman. An badman n nuh loyal to nobaddy away from dem don or dem rifle weh dem have tuck dung inna dem waist.  Or dem ghost weh dem a meck – a dat dem loyal to,” Khaho reasoned.

“Yes, mi have a barber fren- a weh yuh tink him do, cut hair.  I have a tailor friend – a weh yuh ytink him do, meck clothes.  Mi have a farmer fren – a grung him plant.  Suh if a artiste a roll wid a bag a bad man, a bag a gunman, a weh yuh think seh dem do?  Count strokes when him a have sex?  Man, oonu wake up man.  Oonu gwaan like artiste a God. Artiste is just flesh and blood breadda.  Yuh lead by example; yuh spread yuh bed, yuh lay inna it.  An learn,” he added.

Khago’s comments come in the aftermath of recent revelations that entertainer Silk Boss was allegedly beaten at gunpoint a month ago, by a group of ruffians, whom he said were his trusted friends whom he had even allowed to appear in some of his music videos.

Silk Boss had also said that the men had also robbed him of J$1.4 million, which he had earned while in Canada a few weeks ago and had intended to use to as downpayment for a BMW.   In the video which has been circulating on social media over the last several days, Silk Boss is seen backed up on a wall while two masked men box him repeatedly, as he begs them to stop.

The Montego Bay native had also told his former manager and YouTuber Terro Don, that on the day he was to buy the car, he had revealed to one of his friends from the group that he would be getting a bimmer using the extra JA$1.4 million he had earned.

Silk had also identified his attackers as the ones he referred to as “Gulfside” in a recent song, and said that the culprits had kept the footage and deliberately leaked it when his music career began rising.

The Surgery artist had also revealed that the men also pushed his pregnant girlfriend Brii, to the ground during the incident.

Like Khago, in May last year, Bounty Killer lashed out against Dancehall artists who were engaging in criminal activities, associating with gunmen and arming them with weapons, this after a video surfaced of a gunfight in broad daylight, which saw police killing two gunmen, who, had, minutes earlier, murdered a businessman on Old Hope Road and stolen his licensed firearm.

Bounty Killer had said that artists involved in murders, must also perish as the gunmen did.

“Anyone who is friends or associates with any kind of pussy ole like this should be treated likewise. Especially Some Artiste gal and boy who is buying guns and mining gunman and criminal; bullet unuh fi get to str8 up.  Mi nuh hide and talk…,” he had said.

Bounty had also declared that all cold-blooded murderers should suffer the same fate as the gunmen who fired at the police in the busy thoroughfare.

He however came out in defence of Dancehall music, Bounty also made reference to the days of his youth, noting that as a youth when his “senses were not yet developed”, he had loved “bad company”, and even got gunshots, but as maturity set in and he found his way on the right path and never became a gunman.
