Dancehall artist Alozade lost his daughter, Azaliah French Sterling on Tuesday after the toddler battled with a serious lung condition for a few days prior to her death.

Last week, Alozade sent out a message on social media asking family, friends to pray for his three-year-old daughter Azaliah who was in the Intensive Care Unit at an undisclosed hospital in serious condition.

However, she lost the battle.

“Good night dear family, friends and well-wishers, my precious little daughter Azaliah French Sterling made her transition today Tuesday October 4, 2022. To all who prayed fervently for Azaliah and the family, to all who called and checked in to see how she was progressing for all the concern and love expressed to us in our time of need we appreciated it !!! Please continue to pray for us as we still need your heartfelt prayers, in our time of bereavement !!!” Alozade said via social media.

Alozade suffered a stroke in 2020 but has recovered well from that medical event, releasing new songs.

He rose to fame after employing his unique brand of profanity to dancehall songs and he has performed at some of the biggest Jamaican reggae festivals, including Sumfest and Sting.

He first gained notice in 1999 with his track Street Dreams which was released on Byron Murray’s In The Streets label. However, his biggest hit would come in 2000 with Bad Man Nuh Pet Gal.

He changed focus from singing and began working as a producer for his own South Block label.

He had a successful go at it scoring some hit singles like with Capleton’s In Her Heart in 2004 and Elephant Man’s Keeping It Jiggy.
