The relationship police have been up in arms about singjay Razor B having a tongues-wiggling, derrière-shaking, and saliva-swapping music video while being married. Still, his wife Ranjini Cassup is making it known that she consented to the racy action.

Tongue , the bone of contention, has racked up more than 200,000 views since it debuted a month ago with the comments split between commendation and criticism.

In the premiere episode of his Tongue Talk podcast, Razor B sat down with Ranjini to dish on the controversial project.

“I spoke to you prior about what’s gonna happen in the video and you gave me your consent which I thank you (for) because right now, the video nice,” Razor B said, before she expounded on “consent”.

Ranjini Cassup recently joined her husband Razor B’s podcast to talk about his racy ‘Tongue’ video.

“At the end of the day, you’re an artiste (and) we’re married,” she said.

“(I gave you) consent to go make your music, so, just for those people that wanna take things and read between the lines – he’s an artiste and an individual. I mean, you did respectfully come to me and say, ‘this might be a little bit more than I’ve done in the past. Just wanna make sure that you’re not feeling offended’. I’m not offended… I have learnt to separate Roger Cassup whom I’m married to and Razor B who is an artiste for out there.”

She revealed that she hasn’t seen the full video as she can only watch from the lens of a wife, and doesn’t want the spicy images residing in her head. That hasn’t stopped several social media users from tagging her with their opinions on how she should feel about the project.

“I was tagged in a few of the comments where people were generally saying it’s a big disrespect…” Ranjini said.

“I don’t feel disrespected because I was a part of your creative process. You kept me informed so it’s not like this video came out and ‘oh my God, look at what my husband is out there doing’.”

The Hot Up deejay chalked it up to her being self-confident to which she responded “fairly”, adding, “Even if I hated the video, my opinion doesn’t matter. Are you happy?”

“Yeah, I am,” he said.

She continued, “I am pretty confident that if I really was uncomfortable, you wouldn’t have done it because you respect me like that.”

Another conversation piece surrounding the visuals is the promotion of immorality and its impact on dancehall culture.

“I’ve been around dancehall for years and I can say at least 90 to 95 per cent of our females are bisexual, in regards to our hemisphere,” said Razor B. “Me appreciate everybody, mi nuh deh here fi judge anyone.”

Ranjini chimed in, “I don’t think your video is showing or suggesting anything that is not already out there being seen and suggested on just regular cable television… Just as how I, as your wife, chose when to turn off the video because I didn’t wanna see anymore, everybody has that choice.”

Ranjini’s involvement in Razor B’s creative process goes beyond Tongue, with her also inspiring his Pepper Sauce single in 2021.
