Entertainer L.A. Lewis is now trending on Twitter, following Liverpool’s trouncing of Manchester United yesterday, with goals totalling “seven”, the self-styled Maroon president and spiritualist’s favorite number and “official slogan”.

Two goals each from Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah, who became Liverpool’s all-time top Premier League scorer, and another from Roberto Firmino, yesterday gave Liverpool their biggest win against Man U.

The 7-0 thrashing also equalled Manchester’s all-time worst defeat of 7-0 against Blackburn Rovers back in 1926, Aston Villa in 1930 and Wolves in 1931, and left the team manager Erik ten Hag describing their performance as “unprofessional” and “unacceptable”, according to ESPN.

It was L.A. who started the ball a rolling when he jeered Manchester United on his Instagram page and implied, at full-time yesterday, that he had worked magic on behalf of Liverpool, to determine the outcome of the game.

“Livapool link mi and I werk sum ting for dem. Wul a 7 deh man fool united. 77777777777,” the Ready To Go artist stated on a post showing the scoreline, with a photo of himself superimposed over Liverpool’s crest, much to the delight of Liverpool fans and other anti-Manchester United football followers.

“Knew we could count on u Uncle 🙌😂#7 🗣,” one amused Liverpool fan wrote in response, while barbiebritish44 added: “Me vex but this make me laugh😂😂😂”.

Another fan urged LA to work his guzu on other football teams.

“Real Madrid next fada fada,” he pleaded.

It was over on Twitter though, that L.A. Lewis’ name dominated the football discussions about the match, with memes flowing, as some Manchester United fans berated their team even as supporters of their opponents jeered mercilessly.

All appeared to be in unison about one thing though, and it was that the official name for Liverpool’s  7-0 hammering of Manchester and any other subsequent scoreline of that nature, will now be “an LA Lewis” or “L.A Lewis settings”.

“Liverpool really gave United an LA Lewis score line. History dis. SEVEN,” duanepongo said, while audsjop added: “As bad as Chelsea is this season weh nuh pick up LA Lewis 77777777”.

There was another joke from one man that “Liverpool FC really gave Manchester United a LA Lewis”, and one from a seemingly astonished Make It Count who noted: “mandem go la lewis to a drama dis”.

As the mockery continued, one man sarcastically, called for a name change for Man U.

“Better u call them La Lewis United,” he wrote while EmpressTashe piped in: “Man fool United.  Can’t take a club serious when you have even La Lewis trolling them”.

“Liverpool drop a LA LEWIS pan a side,” thealwayneallen jeered, while Romain, in joining in the mockery teased: “Who manage ManU today 10hag or La Lewis, asking for a fren?”

“As the great LA Lewis would say, 777777777777,” deliamson cheered, while VLGKXNG quipped: “I heard that La Lewis was in-charge of Man U training sessions leading up to the game.”

One commenter seemingly oblivious to the connection between L.A. Lewis and the number “seven”, said he could not understand why he was seeing so many posts about the Trench Town native.

“Why is La Lewis trending in football world? I don’t get it. Liverpool vs Man u,” he wrote.

Over the years, L.A. Lewis, like many other artists in Dancehall, had coined his own distinct slogan “Seven!”, which he has repeated everywhere he goes, especially as a greeting, and so, the number, overtime has, in Dancehall circles, become synonymous with him.

L.A. gained notoriety as an urban legend graffiti artist who painted his name in towns across Jamaica, back in the 1990s, leaving the nation curious to find out “who is this L.A. Lewis”.  He became known to the public when the internet grew popular in Jamaica.

However, he has been a recording artist for decades, with several tracks under his belt.

Despite having only three monthly listeners on Spotify, LA Lewis has several songs listed on his account there, among them Feel Nice which was released in 2019 on his Trillionaire Records label, as well as I’m Happy Now, Ganja Healing and Ready to Go.

Known for aligning himself with celebrities, more than a decade ago LA Lewis had remixed Michael Jackson’s 2000 Watts, which he had promoted on his website, claiming that it was a collab with his “friend” the King of Pop.

In September 2008, L.A. staged a media launch at the Olympia Crown Hotel in Kingston for his single titled The Greatest Queen which he described as “a musical tribute to Queen Elizabeth II”.

He also recorded Dem Fraid a Mi on the Don inna Town riddim in 2015 in which he took aim at Gage, Alkaline, Tonto Blacks, Konshens and Kalado, declaring that it was not graffiti time it was war time.

L.A. who also describes himself as a music producer, later recorded We the Girls dem program on the Gaza Federation Riddim by Blakspade Records.  Later he voiced All I Do Is Win in 2017, as well as Reggae one-drop song titled Million Miles Away in 2019.

A few months ago, he voiced the still unreleased Clout Trendin which was produced by Sikka Rymes.
