Shenseea Took The Stage At Rolling Loud California
Jamaican star Shenseea showed out during her set at Rolling Loud California on Sunday (March 5).
The 26-year-old hit the stage with the single Blessed clad in a silver vinyl leather bralette from Rigash, complementary pants and puffer jacket courtesy of Buerlangma, and matching silver earrings from Laura Lombardi.
She bore a short, black deep wave wig and has professional hairstylist Kalief Wolfe to thank for its durability for the 23-minute set. Her regular stylist Kris Fe also took into consideration the manicured look and relied on Sachie Pond to execute the pearl-studded claws.
The Shenyeng princess proved that she was no rookie to the Rolling Loud stage having performed at the Canadian and New York installments last year.
Trying to engage with the audience, the Run Run singer did a vibe check to see how versed her audience was with other Jamaican musicians.
“Imma see if you guys know anything about Jamaican culture, yeah? Do anybody up in here, Rolling Loud, know Bounty Killer? Y’all know Sizzla? Y’all know Vybz Kartel? Y’all know Sean Paul? Y’all know Beenie Man?…” for each question, there was an uproar of different magnitudes with Sean Paul’s cheers being the loudest.
The ‘pop quiz’ segued into Henkel Glue, the Beenie Man collab on her debut album ALPHA . She was later joined by two backup dancers who also wore metallic silver bodysuits.
In an attempt to once again garner a more favorable response from the patrons, Shen managed to get one more cheer by asking another series of questions.
“How you guys feeling, Rolling Loud? Anybody up in here high? Anybody feeling high? Y’all got your drinks yet? Let me hear you make some motherf**king noise,” she said convincingly.
Other tracks to make up the performance were Can’t Anymore, Good Comfort and Hard Drive. The latter perhaps yielded the greatest response, as she invited eager fans to the stage to exhibit their best dance moves to the raunchy Dancehall number.
Shenseea along with American Reggae bands Stick Figure and Rebelution will be the three acts representing Dancehall and Reggae at the star-packed Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, slated to unfold at the Emporio Polo Club in Indio, California this April.
