Harry Toddler Is Enjoying His UK Tour Alongside Mr. Lexx, Nitty Kutchie
Dancehall star Harry Toddler is enjoying his tour of the United Kingdom, which involves a number of club shows and a press junket that includes ethnic radio stations.
The tour has been so successful that he added another club gig to his UK tour with a show scheduled for Bristol next week. He is set to perform at a club in Birmingham on April 8th.
“I have Birmingham this weekend on April 8th, Bristol was just added, it’s a great look. I did Nottingham last weekend, that show tun up, it shot weh,” an elated Harry Toddler said.
He is touring alongside Mr. Lexx and Nitty Kutchie. The first show was dubbed Aires Rollout Stage show and Dance on March 31st with a live band, then another event was held on April 1st at the Laren Lounge in Nottingham. Tonight’s event will be held at MJ’s Bar and Grill in Birmingham. The final leg of the tour is dubbed Pickney Nah Hold Man Again on April 13th at the Black Swan club in Bristol.
The Dance the Angel singer stopped by the BBC on Thursday morning for an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra’s broadcaster, Seanni B.
“Mi love how the BBC deal with the thing, ah murder. It was a great vibe with Seanni B in the studio, the love is genuine,” he said.
He said that he has always had a great following in the United Kingdom.
“I had three number ones in England with songs like , Bad Man No Dress Like Girl, Angel and Bear Wal Waan Me, yes man, mi have a lot of number ones in Britain, everything mi do from the 90s from Scare Dem, people recognise me different in the UK, mad respect,” he said.
He will be releasing a one drop reggae album on God and Good Road under the Down Sound Records and Tripple T Music House labels soon. The album features singles such as Crazy World featuring Luciano, Wicked Leaders featuring Guinny Peppa and They Will Rob You featuring the late reggae great John Holt.
“The album has three beautiful features. I got clearances and everything for the John Holt song which was recorded before John Holt died, is a Down Sound Records song and it’s a really solid production,” he said.
Born Patrick Ricardo Jackson Kingston, Jamaica in 1975. Jackson began his career in his teens performing on sound systems under the guise of Dirty Harry. He changed his name to Harry Toddler and by the mid 1990s, he became a part of the Scare Dem crew out of Seaview Gardens area of Kingston, all friends of the emergent Bounty Killer.
The Scare Dem crew scored massive hits culminating in two albums.
After the crew broke up, Toddler “Dance The Angel”, “Cut Dem Off”, “Hand Mi Di Fire” and years later, ‘Don’t Run In’.
He also found time to tour Canada, the Caribbean and Europe.
