Tifa Opens Up About Weight-Loss Journey

Dancehall singjay Tifa wants to lose 30 pounds, almost half of which she’s shed since starting a weight loss program in May.

The Big Bumper entertainer had previously announced that she’s the new face of Florida’s Dykal Health & Wellness facility, and has been documenting her fitness journey on social media.

“I’m basically half way to my goal of loosing 30lbs in 3 months & I’m not even half way in the program,” she captioned in a video posted on June 15. “Peeps I’ve lost 14lbs so far and I’m now going into my 5th week with 7.5 inches in total off my waist… I’m excited!!! I also started swimming couple days a week so with the added excercise and toning! Prepare to be sick a me.”

Though she expressed disappointment in a reduced derrière, she is committed to completing the program. The latter includes 12 weeks of semaglutide injections which may decrease appetite and cause weight loss; 10 weeks of skinny shots which are dietary supplements that release fat deposits from different parts of the body; bio impedance monitoring which assesses body composition; and a customised meal plan. Included in the latter for Tifa is the Jealous Ova mix, a concoction of magnesium, calcium, vitamin C and biotin named after her smash single with Dexta Daps.

Ambassador hat or not, Tifa wants people to be sensitive to the uniqueness of every woman’s journey of losing, adding or maintaining weight. 

“We have more of an issue with weight, sometimes losing weight,” she said in another visual diary. “We have more of an issue with even gaining weight because we have to deal with things like our hormones, fibroids, polyps, endometriosis, like a whole heap of stuff that allow us to gain weight.”

Drawing on her own experiences, she mentioned having to undergo several surgeries related to her health. 

“Over the past 10 years, I’ve been suffering with my hormones and this particular program is, I think, probably the only consistent thing in terms of weight loss that has helped me with my weight because if you guys notice, my weight has been up and down. So, I’m really grateful to Dykal and I’m really grateful for this program and I’m happy. I can’t wait to get to my goal of 30 pounds.”
