Christopher Martin Celebrates Daughter’s Schools’ Challenge Quiz Victory

Jamaican artist Christopher Martin has bragging rights after his daughter Kris-Sarai Martin and her teammates from the Creative Kids Learning Academy in Kingston walked away as this year’s Television Jamaica (TVJ) Junior Schools’ Challenge Quiz Winner.

The Guaranteed singer, who was live on location at TVJ’s Lyndhurst Road location to watch the exciting match, shared the highlights via Instagram.

“Proud is an understatement believe mi! Keep shining Pumpkin ❤️,” he began under the post, which also showed him blowing a vuvuzela and echoing, “hear mi daughter!”

“Congrats Princess… yuh work hard no lie!!! Congrats to your hardworking teammates as well, your coaches, the entire school body of CKLA… students and teachers alike. CONGRATULATIONS!!! You deserve to be CHAMPIONS!!!!”

The Reggae/Dancehall artist also gave props to the team’s opponent—Great Start Academy, who lost with 14 points to the winner’s 31 points.

“Affi big up di Great Start Family… you guys did extremely well and the energy from your supporters was so pure and awesome. Big up Princi… Big up Senty! (St. Elizabeth).”

The singer had been following his daughter’s journey throughout the season and shared some highlights to let the world know how pleased he was.

Martin is the father of three children, one of whom he shares with fellow entertainer Ce’Cile. 

The news of Kris-Sarai’s success has welcomed scores of congratulatory messages from fans and friends alike. “Joy overflows!!!! Big big big congratulations,” said fellow singer Romain Virgo.

“Then watch the man big eloquent daughter,” a fan added.

“Yeman she’s a big deal. Leggo mi daughter,” another said.

Since he became a household name in 2005 after being crowned the Digicel Rising Stars competition winner at age 18, the Back Pasture native has released several hit songs, including Big Deal, Cheaters Prayer, Fi Mi Fren, Dem, and Under The Influence, after joining Robert Livingston’s Big Yard label. Earlier this year, he recruited Busy Signal and Bounty Killer for the  Guaranteed remix.

Martin’s Steppin Razor EP (2015) went to No. 15 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, while studio albums Big Deal (2017) and And Then (2019), reached No. 3 and 1, respectively.
