Queen of Dancehall Spice says she’s working on her third album. The So Mi Like It singer recently shared some highlights of her downtime in Jamaica, where she says she feels extra inclined to tap into her creativity.

“Jamaica 🇯🇲 gives me so much inspiration. My Album loading up, I’m almost done writing,” she captioned a clip of herself clad in a blue floral dress overlooking the sea at Little Dunn’s River in St. Ann.

There was a follow up video showing the entertainer enjoying time with her children, which she dubbed as “heaven for her.”

Spice has had four albums on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, including her sophomore studio project, Emancipated (2022), which peaked at No. 7, and her Grammy-nominated debut album, 10 (2021), which peaked at No. 6.

The singer’s Captured Mixtape (2018) had peaked at No. 1 on the Reggae Albums chart, while her So Mi Like EP (2014) peaked at No. 14.

Speaking with DancehallMag  about her nomination on the debut project 10 which featured industry giants Shaggy and Sean Paul, Spice said that being shortlisted for the prestigious award catapulted her status.

“I felt like, it’s something I’ve reaped. It’s like I’ve sowed the seeds and I’m reaping one of the major benefits. It was a major deal to be Grammy nominated because whether I walked away a winner or not, I still have that attached to my name. You still have to say, “the Grammy nominated Queen of Dancehall” which is a major accomplishment,” she said.

“The fact that I didn’t win, even though I didn’t physically get the award, I felt like I still walked away a winner to be the honest. I was the people’s choice. I was the most talked about artist in that category. Everybody was talking about me. They wanted me to win, there was a big uproar and so I feel like I walked away a winner in the end.”
