Singer and producer Ce’Cile is actively searching for Dancehall’s next big female artist for her RBN music label, despite past challenges she’s had when working with female artists.

“I’m looking for a female artiste to work with now. I’ve had other female artists who I have tried to work with before but it just never work out so hopefully I find one because I think that I would be able to give a lot of advice, I would be able to give to that person a lot and a lot of things that I didn’t get to do for myself I could pour into them,” she told DancehallMag in an interview.

“I’m looking for a hardcore deejay who ready to grind and ready to put in the work and doesn’t feel like it should be handed to her on a platter,” Ce’Cile noted.

Work ethic is a top priority for the Can You Do The Work singer.

“I’m looking for somebody who has the full package and who has the work ethic as well because you could be talented but if you don’t have the work ethic it naw go work. I mean I’ve heard from Romeich that Shenseea has a wonderful work ethic so that’s one of the reasons why she is successful is because of her work ethic so that’s the thing, I want somebody who is willing to get up and grind not because you cute and know say you shouldn’t want to just use that alone,” she explained. “Want to hustle and grind along with talent and image of course.”

She also prefers an artist who is not overexposed.

“Some persons may be affiliated with other people already and that may not work for how I want the business part of it to be set up. I mean if dem record 50 songs outta road already I may not want to work with that artist because the moment you start to investing in somebody it may not be a good thing because of the business structure,” she reasoned.

In a March interview with DancehallMag, upcoming artist Marcy Chin had shared her experience working with Skatta Burrell and Ce’Cile.

Chin, among other things, mentioned creative differences with Ce’Cile over her 2021 track Lipstick, which Ce’Cile had seen as her breakout song. “We weren’t in agreement on that, but mi trust her at the time because she is who she is and everybody see her as the person who knows it all… But then, it wasn’t,” Chin had said.

While not calling names, Ce’Cile admitted that she has had challenges working with females in the past.

“I’ve had the most disloyal female that I’ve worked with and I really won’t be calling any names but I’ve had cases where I have brought the person to a label like I brought them, I literally drove them to the label and told them we have to work with her and I got ‘no no no we only want to work with you’ and I went ‘no no no’ this is who I wanna work with and months later she turned around and told the label not to work with me because I was competition for her….so loyalty is also important,” Ce’Cile told DancehallMag.

“Now I understand why for the males some of them don’t work with certain people…leave the people dem alone with them beef because you don’t know why, you don’t know what is happening behind the scene,” she advised.

Ce’Cile recently held auditions at Big Yard studio and plans more. “I hope to hold more auditions but sometimes I just scour the internet and go on like Instagram  and said yes I like this person but sometimes they already have managers and such,” she said.

Female artists who are interested are encouraged to reach out to her on social media.
