Reggae star Chronixx has seemingly addressed his fans’ calls for new music.

In an Instagram Story on Saturday, he cautioned against scams and provided a brief update on his music status.  “I don’t negotiate shows from @gmail accounts. Be careful. I’m also not negotiating any shows atm. Be careful again. Big up to the Reggae music fans worldwide… I miss the vibe still – I can’t rush creativity! Love,” Chronixx wrote.

The Ain’t No Giving In singer has been absent from the music scene since 2022, prompting fans to eagerly call for his return.

His 2017 album, Chronology, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart and earned him a Grammy nomination.

In an interview with Billboard, Chronixx discussed his follow-up album, Dela Splash, which aimed to build upon the musical range he incorporated into the production of Chronology.

“Dela Splash is like what I would do on a mixtape: exploring sounds limitlessly because you don’t have to worry about clearing samples, so you put everything you want on it and come up with a recipe for your next thing… I am looking at this long road ahead of producing, writing and making music and I’m not just going to do one-drop Reggae or Dancehall songs. Now is a good time to be authentic and explore all the music that I like,” he had explained.

However, Rolling Stone later reported that the album was shelved.  “The long-delayed Dela Splash may never be released, but the songs he recorded for it will make their way out to the world, Chronixx promises,” the publication wrote.

Tracks like Dela Move, Safe N Sound, Freedom Fighter, and Same Prayer featuring Kabaka Pyramid were released from the project.

Chronixx’s last solo release was Never Give Up in 2022.
