Drake’s Unreleased Collabs With Dancehall Stars Shenseea, Skillibeng Leak Online: Fans React

Shenseea, Drake, and Skillibeng

Two unreleased Drake tracks, Plenty (Wet Up) with Shenseea and Nah Nah with Skillibeng, leaked online over the weekend. The tracks surfaced on Twitter on Saturday, prompting some fans to question why they weren’t officially released.

Shenseea appears to be the lead artist on Plenty (Wet Up), which was reportedly intended for her debut album Alpha (2021). On a pulsating Dancehall beat produced by Rvssian, she delivers playful lyrics in the chorus and first verse, while Drake complements her energy with a smooth second verse. Listen below.

In Nah Nah, reportedly recorded during Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind (2022) sessions, the rapper dives in with bars about a complicated relationship, mirroring the dark undercurrent of the beat. Skillibeng then weaves his verse and the outro around references to his 2020 hit Crocodile Teeth. Listen below.

Shenseea and Drake were previously in the spotlight over rumors they were expecting a child together. The rumor, which had emerged from a satirical April Fool’s article published in 2021 and later amplified by a Bahamas radio station, was dismissed by Shenseea two months later.

In a 2022 interview with The Shade Room’s “Keep it 100,” Shenseea further addressed the rumor and expressed openness to collaborating with the Canadian rapper despite having already recorded the track.

“Of course! I would make a record with Drake. He’s pretty talented. So, of course—why not. I’m passionate about my music, so when it comes to stuff like that…as long as we don’t have any bad blood, let the public talk. I don’t have no problem with Drake. Of course! Why not?” she said. “We’ve had conversations before. But to the point where they’re talking about us doing whatever? No! I swear on my life—no. That’s what got me mad ‘cause like, don’t play with my vajayjay like that.”

Meanwhile, Skillibeng’s association with Drake includes his guest performance at the rapper’s 36th birthday bash in Miami in 2022.

Earlier that year, Drizzy also recruited both Popcaan and Skilli for a campaign video promoting his NOCTA x Nike ‘Hot Step’ Air Terra collaboration.

Drake, who is often labeled a ‘culture vulture,’ addressed the accusation in a 2019 Rap Radar interview, stating that he always recognizes the artists he works with and helps them expand their genres.

“The definition of appropriating a culture is not supporting that culture, doing songs with people who are deeply rooted in that culture, giving opportunity to people who are in that culture,” Drake said.

“That’s not appropriating. Appropriating is taking it for your own personal gain and denying that it was ever inspired from this. That’s the true disservice that somebody could do to the UK, to dancehall, to afrobeats. Me, I’ve always… I ensure that not only paying all due respects verbally but… I make it a point to give opportunity.”

At the time, he added that jealousy might be fueling the negativity towards him, and that some artists were angry that he signed Popcaan to OVO. “They’re mad that I was building with Mavado back in the day, they’re mad that I link with this person and that person and not them. You can always tell it’s personal and it was fueled by personal gain,” he noted.
