Rich 23 Stunts With ‘Paint A Picture’
Montego Bay-based Dancehall artist Rich 23 has new single, Paint a Picture, a get-money song that encapsulates the grind of the streets transforming into tangible success.
“The single, Paint a Picture is a song of empowerment, let’s face the facts, money is an important factor in our lives. “Paint a Picture” is all about my life and the growth I see happening and want to manifest right now as I continue to move forward, not just for me but others as well who can relate,” the artist whose real name is Christopher Junior Drummond, said.
“The people love it so far the energy is there,” he said.
He will be releasing a video for the project in July.
Rich 23 grew up in Coral Gardens in Montego Bay, St James, where he attended Spot Valley High School. He developed a passion for music at a fairly young age.
“I’ve always had a love for music, when I was 9 years old my grandfather used to bring me to the studio on weekends just to record, from then until now my love for music continued to grow,” he said.
He wrote his first song, ‘Go Harder’ at the age of 12 but it was never officially released. During his teenage years, he adopted the moniker, Rich 23.
“23 is my lucky number. It is the marker for a strong black man, I put the “Rich” in front of it as that is the energy I want to manifest, not only in terms of material wealth but richness of life,” he said.
Rich 23 eventually inked a recording contract with Overproof Records Ltd, which began producing his tracks.
Locked away in the studio for the past year, he has recorded several songs for his debut EP, “Forever Rich.”
“My future plans in the music industry is to perfect my craft, provide relatable songs for my fans, and do tours in different places all around the world,” he said.
