Substannzz Hits Top 20 On YouTube Charts With ‘Waan Rich’

St. Thomas-based dancehall artist Substannzz is celebrating his first top 20 single on Jamaica’s official YouTube charts. His breakout video for Waan Rich has racked up over 115,000 views since its release six days ago.

“Ah greatness, you know how the ting go. Mi have to big up the entire team, Artekal Music, and director Steve Bernard who came with the vision to get this video out. The song is getting a big buzz in St. Thomas, it’s a great look, from nothing to something,” Substannzz said.

“A lot of people ah send videos with the song ah play on radio stations in Canada and Jamaica, the other day, mi get a crazy amount of message on mi social media pon mi birthday, everybody ah say mi find it,” he added.

A graduate of Seaforth High School, the St. Thomas-based deejay draws inspiration from his life experiences, crafting a unique style that sets him apart from his peers. His innovative approach and forward-thinking mentality bring a fresh perspective to the music industry.

“I just try to be different in terms of the content of my music, too many of same kind of songs are out there,” he said.

He first jumped into the spotlight with his breakout single, ‘Shadows’ and he is now focused on taking his talent to the global stage. Top flight producers have begun to send beats his way.

He is set to release a raft of new singles such as ‘Grip Rich’ on the Fiesta rhythm, ‘Big Heart’ and ‘Patience is Key’ .
